That and an effort to stop DIF fans buying home end tickets.

It’s to limit stuff like this happening which resulted in a €22k fine for the club.

They we’re fined for pitch invasions after goals a couple of years ago in europe also but I don’t know how much that fine was for
Its basically to keep people off the pitch we have had a couple of large scale pitch invasions and it helps with that.
For most games its not an issue as there is space elsewhere but for matches where we could sell out its a definite drain.
I noticed for the Irish Womans matches they take the mesh down.
3,418 at the RSC tonight Vs Cork.
Excellent - seem to have got a match fitting of that attendance level also .
I wouldn't say there was a 1000 Cork fans there from my view from the opposite stand. The two blocks given to away fans were not quite full but there was probably 100 or so standing at the fences too. Good turn out all the same. Game was heavily promoted all week with marquee bar set up for first time and free flags given out.The new owner and his team made a lot of efforts to make it a big occasion.
I wasn't there but the estimate I was given was about 500 City fans. I'd imagine we'll have a similar number in Galway on Friday
Derry city v Bohs sold out. 3,700
Great to see the posts in this attendance thread now showing actual attendance figures in their posts, for awhile there I thought the thread had lost its purpose! :ball:
Would be an absolute scandal if Irish fans were fined by UEFA for chanting against an English Queen.
I cant see UEFA wanting to get involved. If it was racist stuff yes but this wasnt racist.
It would be deemed political, I'd presume.
The Daily Mail were blaming Rovers fans for all the footy being off over the weekend so here anything is possible at this stage!!!
