Is the COrk game on TV?
There is only 1 genuinely funny poster in here around this time of year. Caulfield is a serial pessimist - that hasn't lost a domestic fixture 2/3rds of the way into the season and has only drawn once.
FWIW - I was gutted Dundalk didn't get through - it was well within their grasp as well - be different if they got hockeyed, but you can't tell me Stephen Kenny didn't think RBK were there for the taking.
As for ourselves tonight - I've no doubt we will give it a right go - but I fear we have left ourselves with too much to do.
The only time I get to see LOI is in Europe so that's the only time I comment, I don't live at home. That's been the case for a very long time now. Just because there is an insularity to this forum doesn't mean what I say isn't valid. Regardless of the validity of my point, I know I'm dismissed here - it doesn't bother me :)
I'm on about Europe he is the inverse of Kenny and Corks performances over the years under him have proven the case. I'm more than happy to be proven wrong and they win tonight, but I can't see it - even if they are capable of it.
By your own admission you rarely watch LOI football so you can hardly complain if people strongly dispute some of the Gross inaccuracies in some of your posts.
This is will be Caulfield's 7th European two-legged game he will have taken charge of. Kenny has a lot more experience, City were poor two years ago but very good throughout the campaign last year. One bad performance last week, and people are lumping into JC as if he is overly negative and Kenny is the second coming of Pep Guardiola! Dundalk are a fine footballing side - but its unfair to label us as Wimbledon in comparison.
Regardless, the result tonight, in 30 degree heat, won't prove anything.
Rovers 1-0 down already.
Need 3 goals now.
Alan Bennett not in our squad for tonight, such a pity. Sheppard on the bench which is a strange one for me, but let's see how it goes
2-0 now. Only the 4 goals needed
Yikes.
The way you show support for other LOI clubs in Europe is to talk down their opponents and highlight the basic mistakes that if avoided would have brought victory.
Is that it?
anyone got a stream of the cork game?
It's all Larnaca so far. They're a Wiley old bunch.
Rovers have hit the post twice playing well but it's all over
Poxy goal. Just as Cork were getting into it.
Disaster there. Big ask to go and score two without reply now.
Not looking good tonight. One of those weeks you get watching LOI in Europe.
Just got in and turned the game on as Cork had a great spell of possession after a couple of corners and thought things were going very well for them and a minute later AEK go and score. All too often sums up the league of Ireland experience in Europe.
Very frustrating that, just getting into it and then that deflection on its way before the header. We will need to be a bit more aggressive in the second. Always thought we would need to get 2 so hopefully that stays the same and we create a few good opportunities, Maguire a bit isolated so far
Just had a goal disallowed.
