AA 2-0 Star
0-0 at the break after a fairly even first half, 2nd half AA were the better side and scored 2 goals and deservedly so, we had a few half chances but nothing of real note, AA deserved the win.
Must say AA's new set up is top class and a pleasure to play on, well done to all involved.
carew 5-0 corbally. scorers were albert slattery with 3,jamie kelly and mark slattery.1-0 at halftime, carew much stronger in second half.a fully deserved win for carew.they dominated from start to finish bar 5 mins here and there.our worst performance of the season by far and on todays performance were only going one way.pitch in good nick this morning.best of luck to carew for rest of season
Don't have much more to add to tedds post. WE had a few players back this morning we needed to kick on again in the league after last weeks dropped points. WE played with a very strong breeze in the first half we went in one up we missed a few great chances to go in a few goals up and kIll off the game deja vu was starting to set in (last week) but we played well 2nd half some fine goals scored.
Regional 3-1 Ballynanty Rovers
After a strong performance last week against leaders Janesboro, in which they were unlucky not to pick up a result, Regional would have been hoping to build this morning with 3 points against an understrength Balla. From early on, it looked like that was the only result that was on the cards.
The key area was the midfield zone. Kieran O'Connell had the run of the park as Frank Lee failed to pick him up time and time again. He kept drifting up from his deep midfield position unmarked to dictate play. O'Connell nodded in the first from a set piece, and won the free kick that led to the second as Balla scrambled to close him down outside the area. O'Connell and Shane O'Connor bossed that area with Lee and Brian Doran looking lost at times.
Having said that, Lee was a threat going forward and took a well struck goal from outside the area shortly before half time to make it 2-1 at the break.
Balla came out looking for the equaliser in the second, but it never really happened for them. Regional's defence coped well with their attacking threat. Kelleher in particular looked completely off the pace. They wrapped it up midway through the half when a mis-hit cross from Jamie Richardson flew into the net. After that it was just a case of keeping possession and running into the corners, which they did very well.
Another impressive, organised performance from Regional. Balla were missing key men and only had 13 players with them but won't be happy with the nature of the defeat. Result was never really in doubt.

if boro beat fairview sunday theyl be twelve pints clear it ill be very hard for pike to catch them even tho they will have games in hand
thought all club fixtures were to stay in line with each other, surprised to see boro allowed to get 3 games ahead of pike.boro,s game v view should be a decent encounter sunday.
Yes you are correct, last year when Fairview won 14 out of 14 they were not allowed get two games ahead of pike in the league and went weeks without a match, as when Pike were playing cup games fairview would have no match, and they were told it was a new rule, seems to have changed again this year now. the most fairview were ahead was 6 points with two games more played and for a finish Pike passed fairview out in games played which was ridiculous.
Anyone know if view are at full strength the weekend, could put a decent side together if all available. Star and corbally both in bad need of points, surely hoping to get points this week at home to struggling sides
wembley have only lost 1 of their last 7 or 8 games and that was in the touhy cup. have won their last 3 league games. considering the start they had i would say that they are on the up. in terms of the table it looks like they are struggling but if they can keep their results of recent going they will be fine. can't comment on how they played as i was not at any game.
If Corbally beat kilmallock sunday it will drag the county lads right back into it,star away is always tough, i suppose you need to be beating the teams around you so its a big game for both teams, best of luck to our lads hopefully keep our good form going.
