Full steam ahead?
So it would seem! No word on POS's effort though.

Treaty United are set to be part of the First Division fixture list announced on Monday, ensuring Limerick regains a presence in the senior League of Ireland.
A dispute between Limerick and the FAI last year triggered the absence of a club from the county in the League for the first time since 1937.
A new entity from the locality, led by former County Manager Conn Murray, initially saw their efforts to join the League as Limerick United scuppered by trademark issues but rebranded as Treaty United to take a spot in the 2020 Women’s National League.
After being permitted to apply for a license to participate in the upcoming First Division, it is understood their submission has been granted the green light by the independent assessment group.
Tommy Barrett – who managed Limerick FC up until their demise in 2019 – has today been formally appointed as their manager. The team will play their home matches at Markets Field in the city.
It is understood Treaty will replace Shamrock Rovers’ B in the 10-team division. The Hoops were reluctantly accepted by fellow First Division clubs into the second tier last season conditional on the arrangement lasting solely for one season.
New wording in the latest version of the Participation Agreement which clubs must sign also makes it very difficult for a top-flight club to field reserve side at senior level.
A prospective new venture backed by American-based figures, entitled Dublin County FC, are thought to have come up short on their initial attempt to gain entrance to the First Division.
Treaty, whose board includes Limerick University sporting director Dave Mahedy and Limerick Chamber of Commerce member Dr Mary Shire, will start the process of arranging friendlies ahead of the First Division kicking off on March 26.
The FAI have informed clubs in both divisions of clearance from the health authorities to play warm-up matches between themselves from February 21.
“I’m delighted personally to be handed a huge responsibility by the board,” Limerick native Tommy Barrett said after his appointment.
“My ambition was always to stay in the League of Ireland and I’m thrilled I can do this at my hometown club.
“I am very passionate about progressing football in the mid-west. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch with players. With the collective focus at the club now in progress, I’m excited for the future.”
Chairman Murray added:
We worked extremely hard in the background over the past nine months. And from an early stage we identified Tommy as a good fit for Treaty United.
“His experience in the league will be crucial and his record at developing young players is evident when you look around the country and further afield.
“He is still a relatively young manager and we look forward to giving him the time and support he will need to progress football in the region.”

as Pat O'Sullivan delusion continues.

Dublin Irish Sea County have sent a few tweets out today which hint at them expecting positive news e.g. saying they're looking forwrad to the fixtures being released on Monday.
They've also got a new GAA-esque crest
Their crest is awful too. Not sure how much sense it makes either. St Bridget's Cross, a pigeon, and barley..
Any picture of this crest Nigel as I dont follow them on social media. If its true about Treaty getting in on Monday and Limerick in 2022 does that mean Limerick city can sustain 2 loi clubs?I couldnt see it work out tbh..
POS is saying he wants to build to getting a senior side back in the league for 2022, but that doesn't mean the FAI has to let him. If they are smart they won't.
Never say never with the FAI
I agree with you but am a little wary of the fact that he's been allowed to linger, like a bad fart, around the underage setup. Are the FAI that afraid of him going down the legal route? In any case, whatever about his original intentions, the health of Limerick football is no longer a concern for the man.
The problem the FAI have is if he comes up with a funded business plan its hard to exclude him.
He must feel that if he can get a team into the league he will be able to get soneone (Dublin county or some such) to invest in it on a franchise basis.
If Limerick supporters turn out for Treaty then it makes that delusion even harder to believe in
Was the Barcelona friendly the trigger for POS to go a bit mental? If I was him I'd spend the rest of my days fighting the FAI, they thoroughly deserve it.
Neither Dublin County nor Treaty United tagged in the league's tweet about the first division fixture coming out tomorrow, which is interesting
Tommy Barrett on the current situation, and has a few comments on what we can expect of Treaty get in: https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2021...t-on-loi-spot/
It'll be an amateur team for at least that first season, probably more, so no one should be expecting too much in the short term.
Threaten to sue probably.
Nobody has licences yet so on that basis there shouldn't be any fixture lists.
If its for last years clubs SRFC ii should be in there
But the FAI said licences were due out last Thursday before the 1st division fixtures were to be announce. Then last minute they changed it and released the fixtures (sort of), and changed licence date now the end of Feb. I'd say there's something fishy alright and its most likely to do with POS acting the maggot.
Maybe Mark Scanlon is just as incompetent as Gavin was and this annual farce will continue indefinitely
If POS was suing, I don't think he'd be this quiet about it.
At any other time i'd agree that fixtures out before licenses being issued would be farcical. But this year its probable that there is a lot of creativity and rule bending for applications (like any other year lol), and whatever rules were actually adhered to there could be some turning a blind eye. Maybe there are allocations of funding yet to finalised and slowing up the license process. If we make it through the season without any clubs withdrawing or digging a big hole of debt well it could show that there is some bit of stability possible.
Is O'Sullivan gone completely bonkers with still trying to flog a dead horse? For a man that has spent a lot of money, pulled back on funding but yet seems to be clinging on for dear life, which still has to be costing him something, it just makes no sense. Stubborn pride, childish or petty or a complete Walter Mitty!? Does he have any support in Limerick on the small chance that he gets a berth for his club?
Naw the Kilcoynes should be SRFC heroes - sure look at the ground Rovers had built for free in the end as a result of what Louis and co's dealings set in motion. Milltown, alternatively, would probably be an outdated ground, a poor spectator facility stuck in the 1970s, albeit full of nostalgic charm for home fans, probably with a plastic pitch to try and generate money to spend on the old place, and be a big financial burden to modernise. It was a bit of a journey but look where it ended up!!!
I know of no one who supports him at this stage. There have been some lows following Limerick over the years but a team was always fielded, even that one last thing ended on his watch through pure vanity and spite. His mindset now is difficult to understand unless his kick is being where he is not wanted.
He had a good tilt at it but broader buy in, sponsorship and investment did not come and that tells its own story. It wasn't credibly run to garner that support in the eyes of the parties who did consider getting involved and that proved accurate.
He should just stop now.
I think you'll find he's every Rovers supporters enemy No. 1, Milltown is the spiritual home where all the heroic teams played, can you imagine in 30 years if Dundalk were playing in a new Municipal stadium with all mod cons, what would the genuine supporters want? to be playing in Oriel, with all it's frailties, but yet, all the charm it still holds for fans
So KoH doesnt stand for Kilcoyne our Hero?
Playing in a new municipal ground with all mod cons?? I'll take thatm genuine supporter and all!! Name the place New Oriel and make a bunch of new heroes and memories. It would be a wrench but sentiment only goes so far. Now if the old place was getting a facelift with the council footing the bill - well it would be like winning a double for football ground development!
Moving from Milltown to Tallaght is not the problem. It's the 25 years of homelessness in the middle.
Had Kilcoyne a brother btw?
(Seeing as we're way off topic anyway)
There was a Pat Kilcoyne played for UCD from around 1966 to 70; it's an unusual name and I wonder is he related? There was a link between the Kilcoynes and UCD anyway, and the Doc was friends with Louis
Knew there were at least two Kilcoyne brothers but Louis' obituary indicates three - Louis, Paddy and Barton.
