I noticed this side last week on the NI goals round up, what a tremendous name, they should go to Switzerland for a pre season tour match against Young Boys (youths) !

Longford are a very fit side. I was surprised at how strongly they finished the game. Karl Chambers was also excellent for them. They used him to nullify the threat from Michael Duffy and then brought him in central midfield when Duffy went off. Vey astute tactical approach to the game.
Bit late to the party but I was at our (Shels) game against Pats last Friday. Pats were **** hot. Look really organised and Mikey Drennan was different class.
From a Shels point of view, we were pretty average. Having said that, we were camped in our own half for most of the game, with aimless balls up toward Kilduff looking like our only outlet. I've been impressed by Dano McKenna though. He played in the middle of the park which is his natural position (Rather than RB where he said he played a lot with Bray).
Well, the First Division title maybe?
So based on pre season form its Longford to win the first division after trouncing Cork 3 to 1 and battering Dundalk 2-2 and Pats to win the premiership with points to spare playing samba football.
I make it Murphy
Madden Webster, birmingham
Brando Splinter
Shaw Drennan Clark
Am i missing any more ex rovers , can Pats field a starting rovers 11?
If Pats draw Shels in the cup they should play it in Tallaght or Dalyer ...big crowd guaranteed :)
Bermo too, though now that he's in his testimonial year for us I think it's fair to cleanse him of the mark his Rovers stint would have against him.
Does anybody know if the Presidential Cup game is available to watch Live online?
Bray 0-2 Boez.
Pats 0-0 Drogheda. Decent enough performance despite the stalemate, more than enough chances to win it but between hitting the post and forcing some decent saves it wasn't to be. Played very much at a winding down pre season sort of pace. Rhys McCabe in particular stood out while Forrester still looks like it might take him a few weeks to get back into the swing of things, he had some nice flashes but was a bit lethargic on the whole.
Drogs looked solid but didn't trouble much going forward, open to being corrected but seemed like it was quite a young team out there tonight for them so they were impressive given that. Thomas Byrne once again showed he has all the talent but it's only himself that's holding him back. Ran rings around us at times but it tended to be well in his own half where he was dropping to receive the ball and then refusing to pass it. To the point where as the game went on some of the away support were getting on his back. He has enough ability to near enough carry a promotion challenge in the First Division on his own but you can't trust him to keep his head long enough for it to be a reality.
we lost 1-0 to sligo rovers tonight in ccs. how sligo rovers got their peno I never know!
we werent as good as we were in the 1st half.
Limerick win 1-0 away in Cobh.
Athlone 2 Finn Harps 2
Was in Athlone and Lognford today. Athlone will be much improved on last year, quite impressed with them but my God Harps were woeful. Fancy them to go straight back down. Sligo bang average but a very big and physical side. Will score plenty from set pieces. Expect them to struggle otherwise.
Poor game in Longford. Thought we were better team first half but Longford better team second half without really creating anything. Neither team created much really. Don’t see us as a big physical side. Dundalk will show us how far behind on those stakes we are on Friday.
Think a lot of players held themselves back tonight coz of the pitch. Very soft and lots of slipping could've easilly picked up a silly injury so easier off a bit. You've some absolute units in your side, can't be many bigger in the league than your numebr 6 at the back.
He looks decent from the pre season games but will see how he handles Hoban on Friday night
Dante Levrock. Bermudan.
Russell is registered I believe but didn't play any part of pre season

Sad little country at times. The football fans of eire won’t watch a real match but wet themselves over a mickey mouse friendly. It will a nice few quid for the club though.
Hopefully a ticket was kept aside for Minister Ross he likes to be seen at such events.
i see the shed end in dalymount has got a bit of a makeover for tonights friendly over the weekend. this sort of sh1te annoys me so much. so if Chelsea were not coming to town would they have bothered to clean it up? probably not. it was volunteers as it happens which is great but like i say if finn harps were coming the dump of a shed would be fine?
It was the third clean up of that area by volunteers in the last three weeks, and we don`t even own the ground!
UCD 0-11 Portsmouth this afternoon.
At least we filled the bench this time
We had two subs against Harps remember.
We don't really have alternatives.
(Didn't hear what the subs were)
Plucky 1-1 draw for Chelsea tonight.
