Nada for me, but my mate didn't get an email, and money was taken out of his account, so I think he was successful. Lucky git
thats a bit weird - they said they wouldnt be deducting money until mid may. I'd be asking questions, especially given the fact that no mail was received.Quote:

Looks like the odds were pretty long.
I'm going to try and grab a few individual matches or maybe an Iran TST.
If we do qualify I'll be at the mercy of the F.A.I. ticket office.
I think he applied for TST-7 tickets. Must get on to him again to confirmQuote:

1 in 4 seems a bit off??!!
any chance a mod would stick a poll up on this? Just to get numbers on applications v rejections from foot.ie
Sorry one and all to hear the bad news,I expected a few people at least to be jumping for joy this morning on here! Maybe they are really limiting tickets sold during each phase or maybe we are underestimating the amount of irish fans that will go to this. I did not apply for this phase as i did not have the money but i will be applying for the next one. It's going to be tough!
Got nothing. (e-mail 4.05 am)applied for a mastercard especially for this and all the s*ite i had to go through to get it. Probally all the nothings that have no interest in football will get tickets. What can we do now??There has to be another way??
my mate applied for himself and me cos Ive no mastercard
but he hasnt got back to me to say if the application was
successful.
We went for the Cat 2 TST-7 tickets

However there is a limited number of TSTs per country so the odds in getting an Ireland TST are probably 1 in 10 or 1 in 20. If you applied for an Ivory Coast TST you have a 100% success rate as everyone got them.
If you just picked random games you have a 1 in 4 chance. Likewise if you picked the final you probably have a 1 in 50 chance or even worse.
Only hope now is that some people may not pay for them or gave bad credit card details. Only realistic chance of getting Irish tickets now is the F.A.I. allocation or just book individual games and hope we end up playing in them - eg A2 v A4 in Stuttgart on June 12th kickoff 3.30pm (not a real game) book that and come the draw you have Ireland v England.................or more likely Ivory Coast v Costa Rica. :(
Are all these rejection's that everybody is getting for TST series tickets. I applied for 3 single tickets and have got no e-mail yet this morning. Anybody else in the same boat???
Got TST rejection and so did my brother...
Mate who had his mastercard charge dfor 1 of the 4 games he applied for hasn't heard yet.Quote:

Most people here are talking about TSTs I assume as Irish games (if we make it) are the priority.
According to the website some games were 39 times oversubscribed (final I assume or maybe German games) therefore you had a 1 in 39 chance if you applied for that.
I'm not a happy bunny at having missed out but in fairness I can't find any fault yet with the way it has been done.
Well I can. Selling tickets on the internet gives touts a free rein.Quote:

E-bay has made the touts game so much easier. They don't even have to travel to a venue now! How many U2 tickets will be sold on E-bay by people who have never even been to Ireland?
Kicking myself I didn't just go for match specific tickets
You might change your mind when you see the type of 'fan' that has had a successful application. I agree that its a near impossible task to please everyone. But, I do feel that individual associations should have an input on how 'their' allocations are distributed. Lets not forget that many of us have spent a hell of a lot of time and money supporting Ireland through the qualifying - just seems like a bit of an injustice that the majority of us wont get tickets.
What about this for a conspiracy theory...
the boys at fifa had all applications on their hands for the best part of 3 weeks in their databases. They then check (in the utmost secrecy of course) the profiles of all applicants. I mean age, sex, passport number. Bingo. male applicants between 18 and 30 might be a bit more trouble than this granny application here or that father of four there, so we provide them with a worse weighting in the 'lottery' draw. Keeps things nice and comfortable for the organizers?
...now don't get me started on aliens!!
bugger! :(Quote:

Just got this in my mailbox now!!! I apllied for all the group games in Frankfurt I got one ticket. I didn't realise that shipping charge was so expensive. €18.00 is a bit steep.
We are delighted to inform you that you have been allocated single tickets for the following match in the draw for ticket sales phase 1 of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany (TM):
1 tickets for match no. 37, on 21.06.2006, in the city of Frankfurt, price category 4, price (number x single price) 35,00 EUR
Total amount (excluding shipping charges) 35,00 EUR
Shipping charges 18,00 EUR
Invoice/ payment amount 53,00 EUR
well done, wonder who it will be???!!!!!!
I agree it would be much much better if the associations got the tickets. However they are committed to public sales - UEFA the same way re the champions league final.Quote:

Remember in 1990 & 1994 the tickets went to the travel agents and they screwed the fans like there was no tomorrow. In France they went to the French.
Duplicate applications are very difficult to make. You need different addresses, different credit cards, different names. they do pick up on these as a mate applied ten times for Euro2000 and got caught out - 10 names, 10 addresses, same credit card. Another guy got caught using the same name and dob at different addresses.
Just heard of 2 more rejections incl one person who applied for 7 individual games and got none.
Still haven't recieved a mail......wonder if thats a good thing????hmmmmmmm
Do we get charged anything for applying and not getting selected?
Just got the two fingers from FIFA (only now)...mail timed at 07.14.....so a word of warning to anyone who thinks the've got their tkts.!
It was a TST application
Definetly a conspiracy!! :D
i am hoping it won't be like this in the second phase too, so many people missing out.
I'll be switching to Visa if i'm not successful in phase 2
Someone ring Joe Duffy and have a rant.....he'll sort it :)
My friends credit card was deducted. Mine wasnt. I guess I didnt get mine and he got his. Sniff.
KT there is no 2nd phase for Irish fans. Our chance is gone. It is the F.A.I. now.Quote:

Looks bad my friends if your credit card is not deducted by now!!
Anyone still sitting waiting for an email?
I applied just before the deadline so was wondering if the rejections are being sent out sequentially
Just got an email now, apparently my application has been successfull, I applied for:-
Number 1, TST type TST-6, category 3, country Republic of Ireland, price (number x single price) 473,00 EUR.
I'll have to sort out my bank exchange (dont have a MasterCard) when I get the procedure email which should arrive in "Early May 2005".
congrats! :D
