Drogs to dump Cooke?

He got great credit for sticking with Monaghan in the 1st division and almost getting them out. But thats not in the same ball park in terms of success. Was Mick regarded in such high esteem before his exploits with Drogs last year/this year?

My point is everybody needs a chance in order to be successful. Robbie Horgan now has his! Robbie was also a massive part of the success Mick had with the Drogs in recent years.

Yes everybody does need a chance in order to be successful, but as a general rule they don't get it until there is a vacancy, Horgan knew he was getting his chance while the position was still filled.
Your other point about Drogheda not being able to compete with certain other clubs in relation to wages is accurate.
They haven't been able to compete with them for the last two seasons either and yet the players named stayed with the club because of one man Mick Cooke.

I would have gone for someone with more experience at management. Some options would have been Pete Mahon, Martin Russell, Declan Devine even, he finished 4th, won cup in 2012, I would have also taken in Darius in some capacity to try and draw back the local and lost support. But the decision is made now, best of luck to Robbie, however you get the feeling it will be a tough station ahead.

A tough station !!! It will be a tougher station than South Bermondsey when West Ham play at Milwall
