Thanks for that Historynut. Always happy to spread the football gospel.
I have not read through it yet, but at first glance it is a history of all clubs , past and present, of how they started and interesting stories relating to them.
It does not contain a roll of honour regarding league winners etc but an interesting compilation nonetheless.
Happy reading!

Historynut- basically every major honour that the 35 current clubs won in the WJL are mentioned, with the bigger cups getting a more detailed match account.
It's done extremely well and I might have to do something with it again next year, but in a different format.
I'm currently working on a new league of Ireland book which hasn't been attempted before.
Regards
Brian
I will be posting more about the LOI book in due course

how did CARRICK V LEEDS GO
Carrick 3 Leeds 2, Burkie, A Coady and Sconnie with goals
Good win for Carrick- what way did the game go.
open game of ball eoin burke put carrick ahead with a nice goal from a corner, leeds replied with a goal from a flick on from a free kick alan coady put carrick in front with a close range finish, in the 2nd half john walsh headed home at the back post from another corner, leeds scored a late consolation.
Carrick still very short they need their players back from long term injuries soon Wayne Fitz and Glen Keane are big losses, still unbeaten this season and havent yet played to their potential

Premier League
Hibs v Dungarvan United (Postponed)
I see Carrick are idle again this weekend (I presume they are still 'boycotting' the OT). They'll have been 3 weeks without a game when they play in the FAI (next week??). While it's of benefit to allow injured players recover there must be a fear of rustiness against a seemingly handy outfit.
Its not from lack of trying junior league would not give us any fixture last week even tho there was 6 premier teams with no game sitting idle and even this week there's 4 teams with no players on OT that we still have to play and they still wont give us a game. We've a challenge match Sunday and were playing the glass next Sunday week in the league which gives us a great chance to get all our returning players a good run out before Lagan Harps.
Congratulations to Adrian Walsh on receiving an nomination for Junior International player of the year!! Best of Luck.
Junior International Player of the Year
Chris Barbour - Mountview Utd.
Ross Carrig - Killester Utd
Adrian Walsh - Carrick Utd
The "" were to stress that I am only guessing (have no connection with either side) but given the history between Carrick and the league especially the Ardagh cup mess last year and the fact that none of the best players in the league are on the league representative side leads me to believe that no Carrick players made themselves available for OT duty. Is this the same as boycotting or have I totally misread the situation and the Carrick boys are in bits that they don't get to wear the Waterford league jersey with pride!!
As a Carrick player I can assure you that no Carrick players are boycotting the OT team, its just all players that were asked had valid reasons like work, family and so on. Also 7 of our team have OT winners medals already with Waterford so its not about not having any pride. I cant speak for any other Jnr league team but we train 3 nights a week and a match on the weekend, so having a free weekend when OT are playing is a well earned rest.
I wonder do any of the current ot squad have a job family, job, and other commitments ,id say they do ,but they re honoured to make sarifices to be there for their county.most clubs if have ambitions are training 3 nights a week this days its not only carrick who are.from what i was hearing anyway when they were on it they did nt even bother travelling down training with squad half the time.
Competitions such as Oscar Traynor are somewhat outdated in the modern era. It is a simply a throwback to other codes and 'county rivalry'.
It is merely a nuisance in an already overcrowded season. The reaction of those who bemoan its demise is understandable, to a certain degree. However, any grasp with reality will inform people that these sentimental ties with this competition are merely that and we need to move on.
Waterford 2 - 2 Wexford AET
Wexford won on Pens(sudden death)
All the talk about Oscar Traynor whether for or against the competition can rest for a while in Waterford !!:ball:
my info is that OT manager was struggling to form a panel for kilkenny game .( One prominent Carrick player made himself available but was not asked to play , he had played previous 9 years) . With 10 teams in the league giving 16 players each club , this would mean at least 160 players to choose from. It is obvious that the Carrick players were were not the only ones unavailable. but the only ones getting "bad press"

Nice game to get Carrick ready for FAI Junior always a good encounter in recent years, the game at the start of the season typifies nil nil 2 carrick players sent off with over half an hour to play, some savage tackles twas a great game to watch of a sunday morning, promises to be the same this sunday.
Is this table up to date Bobby D - does it include the Ferrybank 1-1 draw with Johnville where Ferrybank were awarded all 3 pts (instead of 1 each) due to Johnville apparently having an illegal player apparently.
