After last night I need to buy a tripod. These are not great as my lens got damp and I wasn't sure what shooting mode to use. I tried most of them.

i have to say HB that Derbyshire (not sure where exactly) looks a dapper place to live. Or else youre just a very talented photographer.
Oh god Derby isn't great Stu but I work just beside the River Derwent (photographed) and thanks for the compliments. I thought those pictures were better until I uploaded them to that size and they are very very poor indeed. A tripod would have helped though to steady me as it was quite cold. There were a few of us out photographing that particular fall of snow as it happened.Quote:

Any beauty they may portray has a lot more to do with simply how nice the views are, very little to do with me. For what it's worth, I used an entry-level Nikon dSLR and the lens that came with it. And the shooting mode was set at Manual. I didn't do anything fancy at all - just, "oh, that's nice," a quick fiddle at the settings, and press the button. :)Quote:
