according to your man on 95FM Balla are playing Fairview and Pike the winners of Mungret/Regional V AA
mungret won a pens i think
typical:ball:
It was 2-2 AET and 5-4 on penalties to Mungret.
.
Aisling had the majority of possession in the 1st half without really troubling the mungret goal whereas Mungret had 2 good chances that were not converted, but Mungret controlled the 2nd half and a few good chances that either went barely wide or the keeper did well with.
Aisling had a good chance with about 10 mins to go witha header but the Mungret keeper made a great save.
Keith McNicholas got mungret's first with about 3 mins to go, broke the offside trap and flicked it passed the keeper and tapped it. Aisling's goal came from a long throw and a flick on and a good finish.
Extra-time Mungret took the lead right on HT of extra-time through Keith McNicholas again. Aisling broke with about 5mins to go and took adavantage of some sloppy defending to bring the game to penalties. Mungret had their 2nd penalty saved but had it re-taken cause the keeper came off his line; it was scored when it re-taken with Aisling missing their 5th penalty.
Good game of ball fairly entertaining although no goals were scored until a couple of minutes to go when mungret got the opener but conceeded in stoppage time. Goal in the first half of et from a bad defensive aisling error. Aisling equalised with a couple of minutes to go from another defensive error this time from mungret.
Both teams seemed very up for it with not much separating them.
Mungret missed a penalty in the shootout which had to be re-taken and was scored. 5-4 on penalties to mungret
Think balla are the dark horses for this cup.
Anyone know where one could get odds on this??
Semi Final
Pike v Mungret 7.30pm Jackman Park Wed Feb 10th 2010.
Balla v View
Pike won 4 nil.3 nil up at h/t.Great freekick to open the scoring then a 2nd almost straight from the kick off then Mungret dropped the heads .Mungret were good in the 2nd half but never could get back into it.Best of luck to Pike in the final
4-0 to pike, a dire match to watch
neville,mullians,cleary,enright,daly,o donovan,o shea,colbert,ryan,moloney,carroll, subs barry,hartnett,o grady (all used) missing sniffer,boris,smackers,mc garry,gregg.
The game I was watching showed good football for 15 mins with three well taken goals and then the only good football I saw after that was the fourth goal with great speed by winger putting in perfect cross for Barry. The other 75 mins were dire with a lot of simple passes going astray . As you say it's a result business but god I was bored watching it expecting better. I don't know what it is about the Tuohy cup underlights but I haven't seen a good exciting game as end to end stuff, like you would see in league games and other cup comps
Fixture 25/02/10
Semi Final
View v Balla 7.30pm Jackman Park
Winners play Pike in the final
view and balla tonight, should be an interesting match, look at the officals for tonight d.broughton is the referee his two assistants are mick bourke ( i thought he retired) ryann mccann (the linesman who was in the carew vs view match which costed carew the match with a dodgey penalty) can anyone confirm this.i reckon view to win 2-1
ryan is a good referee but i was watching the carew vs view match and all he was interested in was cleaning his boots with his flag and missed an off side, the penalty was a shocker i hope he has a better game tonight cos it should be a good game, did mick bourke come out of retirement for this game cos it would make you think there is a lot better refs out there than him especially for a semi final of the premier cup

View win 4-3 on peno's.
Tommy Barrett saved two peno's went in goals when keeper got injured.
poor game balla will be kicking themselves they had enough chances to win two games view keeper barrett prob made 1 good save all the other chances were down to very poor finishing.
watching ross cosgrave tonight how he got called up to the irish junior squad is beyond me 3 or 4 times tonight he had easy balls to play in the view strikers but instead he put his head down and just kept running worst player on the field IMO
headless chicken syndrome
these matchs are the worse matchs ever are teams afraid to play good football in this cup what are view going to do two keepers out injured? a waste of money going to these matchs hope the final will be a lot better pike vs fairview.when is the final been played?
