Fair enough, thought I'd have to back track a bit on that comment. As a snugboro player, i've no problem with it, sign whoever you want. I was speaking specifically from the viewpoint of a fringe Ballyheane player who will have to play B football this year as he was pushed out of the A squad by an as of yet unproven Galway league footballer. I hope it works out for Ballyheane and its the prerogative of the Ballyheane manager to sign the players he knows. Its just a high number to sign and I was shocked that that number of players agreed to sign for a whole season considering the distance to travel. Wasn't a dig at anyone.Quote:

Where did I use the excuse of not winning because we had our U-18's missing. If you see my post all I said is that we will be stonger when they return. I also mentioned all the players that S&F were missing. You should look at developing your own youth system and stop knocking ours. I also recall wen Scahill, Horkan, Nevin, McLoughlin, McHale, Cameron, Lawless and Geraty all came into a poor Utd team as 18 year olds and as far as I know won the SL the following year.Quote:

Everyone is a free agent at the end of the season so its up to themselves if they want to join a new club. No ones getting paid to play in the super league( except for the 8 lads from galway ;)) so its there choice who they play for. Most players moving between clubs around the town(manulla,celtic,snugboro) do so because they have friends or some other connection with the club.
Anyway, my point is it happens to every club,nothing anyone can do about it.
Super League just around the corner, best of luck to everyone and i hope everyone puts up a good challenge and maybe someone else can win the league for a change.
These 8 lads aren't allowed play until June 1st in the Mayo League according to the rules we're all bound by. That is unless they played for no club during the season that just finished in Galway!Quote:

I havent seen the Mayo News but as far as the Connaught and the Western are concerned the coverage of the start of the league is woeful and non exsistant. Has Celtics games in the A league overshadowed the Super league?? Well so far yes. Each year the connaught does a decent piece on each club and the standings. This year nothing. Im certainly not holding my breath for anything in the advertiser as its coverage of soccer is a joke. Surley the A league and the Super can be given equal coverage?
What are other posters opinions on this( and just to state im not dissing the A league)

A few months ago everyone was wishing Celtic the best of luck and now all this **** about them being higher than the ML. they still have teams in the SL and premier. In my opinion its great to see a club from Mayo in the A league and hopefully they can do the same as Mervue in a few years. As for the 'average players' at least there giving it a go at the top and so far its not looking too bad from a Celtic point of you.
Im not associated with Celtic by the way but would like to see them do well and progress further in the LOI
