Well I don’t know the three men you talk about personally, but Brian O’Donnell and Tony Scully have been around football a long time and they have both done a lot for the game. Tony Scully was a great player with the Old Bridge, did his stint there as manager and also was assistant to Billy Lambe when he was first manager of Town.
Brian O’Donnell was a founder member of the TSDL and has been involved in football all his life. Look at the all weather pitch that’s in the complex. I am not saying it was all down to him but he was the Chairman.
In relation to Muiris Walsh (it’s not Maurice) in my time following the club (almost 30 years) I never seen Town as high profile as they have been over the last few years, maybe with the exception of 1994. He has brought the club no end of publicity.
He is a regular guest on Tipp Fm’s sports show on a Monday night and I have to be honest he is the best analyst they have and that includes all sports, again all of this is good for Town. From talking to a few people from within the club, he is the man responsible for Mckeever being at the club and he is as passionate a Clonmel Town fan as you would get. People have told me he is one of the brightest and sharpest people in Clonmel Town and the big hope is that he will be chairman one day.
So before you start slagging off any of these three men, get your facts right and as people have said if you feel that strongly about it, go to an AGM and say your piece. That is the correct forum not here!!
