I think flares look great personally, but there's a clear public safety risk involved, particularly in old and decrepit stadia such as those in our league.
Just last month in Bosnia, Modrica's goalkeeper Bojan Tripic severely burned his hands removing a flare thrown by opposition fans from the pitch and missed several games as a resullt.

People keep bringing up red herrings like the legality of flares into this debate when nobody is disputing their legal status.
