I would find it absolutly astounding if Chelsea let Duff go, he was their joint best player with Lampard last season. Robben looks like a hell of a player though.
Personally I think Duff is as good a player as Gerrard so fair play to Liverpool if they pull that one off!
Duff plus £20m for Gerrard???
Personally, I think Duff is a better player than Gerrard......
Me too, Gerrard was shyte at Euro2004 gave away a goal and
also gave away the midfield.
£40 million - thats a joke, he not worth quarter of that.
Have to disagree there. Gerrard is a player in the mould of a Viera or dare I say it a Keane. A player capable of single handely dragging a team by the scruff of the neck to victory (see Liverpool performances last season). Duff is a class player but more of a flashy kind - like Giggs in his prime. He has less of an influence on a team.
Have to disagree there, I've never seen the boy control a midfield, aor control the pace of the game, good engine on him, scores a few and occasionally hits a killer pass (although he overdoes it, he seems to dislike playing it short).Quote:

Gerrard will be good in time, but he's nowhere near Vieira or Keane
When Roy was Gerrard's age he was Ireland's best player at USA94 and bossed the Italian midfield about. Patrick Vieira was the rock at the heart of France's Euro 2000 winning midfield at Gerrard's age.
I don't see why Chelsea want rid of Duff, he was their best player last season. Ideally I'd like to see Duff play in a league where his talents are appreciated, he's wasted in England.
I thought DUff was gone ? Didnt Chelsea buy that dutch winger.. Robben ? who is basically identical to duff . Hard luck duff, going to a crappier team must be a kick in the teeth alright.
both players are capable of playing on either wing, leaving room for both players to be on the starting team, which is what chelsea want to do
oh i see. Having two wingers would be good for Chelski. It would be more balanced. maybe duff hasnt been sent packing after all :confused:Quote:

Duff will be at Man U by the end of the January sales.....
doubtful. After seeing robben in euro he is decent but no duffer. Would not be any real competition for him and im sure mourinho will see that soon enough. This is the season where duff will show everyone how world class he is !
I think (and hope) that this story is just tabloid tittle-tattle and has no basis in truth. Chelsea have even come out and put a statement saying that Duff (and Parker) are going nowehere.
Chelsea have sold Gronkjaer so Duff and Robben are the only real wingers they have. Both can play on either wing. Would be very surprised if Duff was sold as one of Chelsea's biggest problems last year was their lack of width when Duff wasn't available.
mourhino is a fan after allQuote:
Everyone (but Cole) was fully committed in attack and defence," Mourinho added. "Duff was fantastic. Paulo Ferreira was like a winger for 90 minutes and also put in good challenges."
new thread as the old one is massive and it's a new dawn and damo duff is king :D
Yeah, I heard him interviewed last night and he said that Duff came into the team at the right time for him.Quote:

Boy is he ready!
Bring on the Frenchies!!!
Mourinho is giving Duff a lot more responsibility defensively and more often than not he wins the tackle as he's so good at reading things. Its also a good sign that he critisises Cole after one of his better game, if Duff was unavailable Ihe'd probably be praising Cole.
yaahooooo go on duffer!
Roll on Saturday!

Robben in the first team How is this going to affect Duffer ??
