Well i guess that is true but i'd expect the Sox to keep a hold of the titile of best team in baseball as they have done all season.
Who won the all star game? i forget, but isn't homefield in the World Series decided by that?
The AL so whoever wins the AL will have homefield advantage in the series. The big battle at the moment is for homefield in the AL playoffs.
Yankees complete the sweep.
How does the playoff pairings work? Are the games decided by 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 or is it East vs West or whatever?
anybody see young Buckholz last night throw a no hitter against the Orioles, fantastic performance. Only his second major league start
Have to hope that Seattle kick the losing streak to sweep the Yankees the next three nights - disaster against Toronto:mad:
AL East lead down to 1.5 games...
sssshhhh we're trying not to think about it ;)
Shocking losses over the last week, Yankees scoring 7 in the bottom of the 8th on friday, gagne doing his usually crap when young Lester gave him something to work with, then Papelbon handing out a grandslam last night, not a good time to be a Red Sox. However playoff is pretty much gauranteed but it would be nice to finish above the yankees
If the Yankess win the Division, will that be some sort of record, 15 or so games down.
Boston Sucks!!! Only 1.5 games in it now, and I hope they're sweating it in Fenway, ah it all looks so different now.
It's similar to what happened to the White Sox a couple of years ago when they let a huge lead slip. They hung on in the end and didn't do too badly in the postseason as I recall...
****ing Mets doing their best to throw away NL East too.
Fear not it's the Phillies chasing them, nobody chokes like the Phillies.
Magic number down to 7, all Red Sox's remaining games against teams under 500.
Magic number for red sox down to 2! :) beat Oakland 11-6 last night.
The Mets' spectacular collapse is complete, all within 2/3 of the top of the first inning. What a contrast their two opening pitchers had over the weekend.
Red Sox sweep the Angels, outscoring them 19-4. Rockies and D'backs sweep Phillies and Cubs respectively. Indians leading Yankees 2-0 and are 2-0 up in game 3, former Red Sox Trot Nixon hitting a home run. If Yankees lose the series Torre is gone. Everything looking very good for Red Sox so far.:) Also:
