barry you really could have thought of a more subtle user name than villa man. you could have also tried to phase in the 'barry ryan is god' mantra instead of hitting us with it. your disguise lasted as long as your reign as starting striker will.........heard villa have a b team this year,i can see you bagging a few against galbally b to be fair to you::p
the obvious frontt two for villa will be Kirwan and O'Connor.....if delahunty doesnt return then barry ryan and pat lawlor will fight it out for third choice.....but ryan will probably get a game with the oscar traynors
There's a separate thread for the "Best 11 players" in the league
Hi guys,im new to this.
who is in this " new look 4" of villa,s that has been mentioned a few times.
As far as im aware, St Michaels pitch Cooke Park is hosting a junior international game aganist England in September so they want to make sure the pitch is in pristine condition so there playing most of there home games now so the pitch will be vacant for 2-4 wk period around the time of the international! I wouldnt agree with this myself, however if you look on the bright side, michaels will have alot of away games near the end of the season and if there in the shake up for honours, it should be more difficult for them to take points away from home! Anyone agree?
As for Peake Villas Barry Ryan being sharp, thats a good one if i ever heard it, the mans about 70 mins fit and then hes out on his feet! I watched a few pre season games and saw the borris game the other night and he looked far from impressive! If OConnor is fit and Kirwan stays with the villa, Ryan will be warming the bench for along time in my opinion!
Saw foggy playing for the villa in the borris game, ran the show for long periods and took alot of the load off donal duggans shoulders, could be the signing of the season! Also impressed with the new look Villa back 4, very tight![/QUOTE]
does anyone know who this new look back 4 for peake are??
and also what happened to a young left winger michaels had a few seasons back "andrew something ". i seen him score a few crackers and taught he had great potential??

That crashing sound in your head is reality hitting home:D . Town dominated Peake yesterday and the match was over as a contest after half an hour whenTown went 3-0 up. In fairness Villa improved in the second half and created a few chances. Villa improved this year? Maybe but they still have a lot of improving to do. If its any consolation i dont think any team will win all their games this year so one defeat will not spell disaster. On a final note- the refs performance yesterday was shocking. This applies to decisions made for both sides. Bring back Ned Spillane i say ;)
For a neutral I would agree with all the above comments and with regard to the referee, shocking is just an understatement. Both sides were very hard done by by the ref...he was disgrace. When you see two teams going out and giving their best and you have a ref who could be better off blowing his whistle at sheep dogs trials...It's a disgrace. Peake have a lot to do if they are to challange for honours this year. Good 2nd half, but it's 90 mins you need to be playing for these days.
Anybody know if Coady is due to serve a suspension from last year ?
Coady was initally handed a 3 month ban by the TSDL disciplinary committe- unjustly in my opinion when you consider the instigator only recieved a one match ban. The decision was upheld on appeal to the Munster council so starting from next week Coady will be kicking his heels for 3 months. Town will miss him not particularly for his scoring ratio but more so because he terrorises defenders into mistakes with his workrate and tenacity. Anyhow, the decision is made and we just have to get on with it now. Depending on the opposition it will probably be Tony Scully or Michael McCugh to fill in during Coadys enforced sabbatical.
by all accounts it was the referee's report that got him done..saints player sent off and rightly so for kicking but the sentence for that is 1-3 games but the player had no previous..alan coady was done for headbutting, kicking on the ground and attempted biting..so based on this and his previous he's lucky it was not longer.. i have to ask the question tho given that saints had 7 youths that night would coady even have attempted it if chalky breeno paul tobin davy ryan etc were playing.. i don't think so !!! any comments?
Whilst i would never condone violence on the pitch it has to be said that u cant expext to catch a tiger by the tail and escape unscathed. Obviously the refs x-ray specs were in good working order that night when he saw through the ruck of 14-15 players to witness this alleged headbutting, kicking and biting. As for the "Heavy Brigade" mentioned above i can only suggest that they dont try to find out. It may prove to be a painful lesson.
Was at Town and Villa game on Sunday and I never saw refereeing like it in my whole life it was a disgrace how there wasn't 4 lads sent off. Anthony Davis deliberately handled ball on line and only got booked, Paul Scully threw and elbow which the ref called him back for and only booked him, Barnes threw a dig and got away with it and a Peake player should have been sent off also for a dangerous tackle. I think ref's are too scared to sned off players from the so called "big teams" in the league. Barry Ryan missed 3 glorious chancs to get Peake back in the game also on the day. Any truth in rumours in Town that Dwayne Burns is leaving?? He played a match last Sat morn for CLonmel Celtic and then was never given game for Town on Sun..........
