Don't know what happened to Mike Connors(Mannix) you might want to Google the name. Fancied his secretary big time myself ;)Quote:

Do you honestly think that is worse than Shaun O'Dowd and Ding a Ling? :DQuote:

They had a unique take on a lightng system - during an instrumental solo, Eamon Cannon would reach for a switch and you had red/blue, red/blue etc. -you really had to be there. :D
I mentioned a Beeslow punk band from late 70s in another thread way back - band called Vomit.
Met one of that set up on Saturday - Dixie (also ex Athlone Town Reserves) and told him I had mentioned Vomit in Footie. We had a great laugh about it.
One thing he told me I didn't recall and it's perfect for this thread. Vomit changed their name to................................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...........Methodist Torpedoes. LOL :D
Ah saw Chumbawamba as a lad-legendary stuff! (what the heck am I on about I sound old I still am a lad!!)
Anyways FLOGGING MOLLY is a great name for a band!!
GErry and the PAcemakers was a bit suss
The Smiths
great band, dull name... One of the most uninspired things Morrissey came up with, unlike many song titles (who else could come up with "Don't make fun of daddy's voice" ? )
in Belgium there used to be a band caled "Biljarten na half tien" which means 'Playing pool past 9.30 pm"
and risking my life by saying this on an Irish forum, but the name of the band is probably the worst thing U2 ever came up with
Bananarama is quite a dull name, and The Beach Boys sounds a bit of dull-macho to me.
Just off on a wee tangent - I noticed this phenomenon in Holland too -when the Dutch say "Half Ten" they actually mean 9.30 or "half way to Ten" whereas when we say it we mean 10.30 or "half an hour past Ten"Quote:

Yeah, but since when is music is about commerce ? I'd say too few artists care about artistic dignity and ideals.
And about the "half ten": yes, in Dutch or German it would mean 9.30 = half an hour to ten.
Pretty confusing it was in my first week in Ireland...
Anyone remember the Cartoons. Had the 'Witch Doctor' song as a hit. That's a bad name, and look them up on Google Images if you want a laugh.
Cannibal Corpse. :D
Just thought of an another-Goldie looking chain. That is terrible :D, sh!it band too:mad:.
Yes and their music is also an acquired taste too.Quote:
