Who'd have thought it at the start of the season that by mid-September the Blackburn Rovers player to watch from an Irish point of view would be Tommie Hoban? Another start today as Blackburn picked up their first win of the season. Darragh Lenihan got a run-out for the last ten minutes, Jack Byrne was an unused sub, Anthony Stokes wasn't in the squad and Shane Duffy's gone elsewhere. Hoban's form should be monitored closely
It had completely passed me by that the man had even left Bristol.
Big goal from Tommie

Championship duo Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield United have joined Queens Park Rangers in the pursuit of Watford defender Tommie Hoban, according to The Hertfordshire Mercury (via GetWestLondon).
Loan move to QPR reportedly agreed, nothing official yet
Not having much luck, ruptured his ACL

Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago in training I ruptured my acl, the surgery went well and the road to recovery starts again now. Been one thing after another the last few years and this time it's been hard to take. But I know I'll come back from this and eventually I'll get to where I wanna be 🙏🏼
Feck it that's an awful setback. Poor fella.
Hoban included in the list of 11 Irish players who could go on loan in January in the Independent: https://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...-36446658.html
Except they misspelled his name and left out that he's recovering from a torn ACL.Quote:
Jayson Molumby
(Brighton)
One of a number of talented young Irish players in the Premier League who is unlikely to get a run of games at his parent club and may benefit from a loan to a lower club for experience. Depending on commitments to their respective youth teams, clubs could take a punt on Molumby, Conor Masterson (Liverpool), Tyreke Wilson (Manchester City), Marc Walsh (Swansea), Tommy Hoban (Watford), Aaron O'Driscoll (Southampton), Dara O'Shea (West Brom). In the Championship, Leeds pair Eoghan Stokes and Conor Shaughnessy, Wolves' Connor Ronan, Aston Villa teenager Jake Doyle-Hayes and Fulham defender Sean Kavanagh are in similar need of regular games.
lazy. o shea has been out on.loan most of tge season, o shaughnesssy has ben involved with.leeds on the bench all season and started yesterday so he will not be going anywhere and marc walsh is an under 17 player for us who joined swansea in the summer where the hell do they think he would be going?awful stuff
Same with Wilson, think he's only 17. Highly unlikely he's going anywhere
Marc Walsh is only 16, hardly a candidate to go on loan. Joined Swansea from Harps last summer just after his birthday.
Lazy journalism there.
Brutal stuff yeah. Stokes and Kavanagh could do with permanent transfers, to be honest. I don't think they would gain much from a loan. Many of the rest are probably too close to the first team (squad anyways) or else too young to be going on loan. Out of all the names mentioned, I reckon Masterson is the only one a loan would be good for. Molumby and Doyle-Hayes are a bit young and are probably training consistently with the first team at their clubs- next season would be the time for them to move on loan.
I like this little nugget about James McClean's prospects:
"A lower Premier League or Championship club prepared to take the inevitable flak will sign a committed and influential player."
Considering West Brom just moved above Swansea on goal difference to 19th, that doesn't leave much room
Well done Tets! I thought the site had closed down such has been the lack of activity on here of late!Bloody Sami Hayden particularly needs to up his game!
