Quigley brushes aside Richardson snub
Dundalk FC striker Mark Quigley insists he “doesn’t have to prove a point to anybody” as he brushed off his omission from Damien Richardson’s provisional Airtricity League squad for the upcoming Dublin Super Cup.
The news of his absence from the 35-man panel came as a surprise on Monday, but Quigley, who answered the watching Richardson in no uncertain terms at the Carlisle Grounds on Tuesday evening, says he will use the week off to enjoy a first holiday with his family.
“No, it wasn’t a message – I don’t have to prove a point to anybody,” Mark told dundalkfc.com. “The players that I play with every day and the players that I’ve played with throughout my career, they know what I can do, so I don’t have a point to prove to anybody.” When asked if he was disappointed to miss out, he said: “No, not really. I didn’t expect to get picked anyway, so I’m going to book my holiday now and go away with the family. He’s after picking his 35-man squad and that’s it now.”

Mark Quigley brushed aside his suprise omission from Damien Richardson's 35 man squad last night with a complete performance in the 5-1 demolition of Bray Wanderers.
He also drew a line under any potential call up to the squad by booking a family holiday and saying "He’s after picking his 35-man squad and that’s it now.”
