Rewatch the match mate, how often did gooch go down and stay down? How often were there Kerry trainers on the pitch on comparison to Dublin staff? Come back to me afterwards.

The stamp on Donaghy was bad form (even though it didn't really connect) but wtf was he doing coming onto the pitch every few minutes?

To clarify I agree that Kerry are an awesome team on their day and I don't think they need to resort to the gamesmanship but you're wearing green and gold blinkers if you're denying it exists.

And the 'single most dispicable thing ive ever seen in any sport'??? :D Don't make me laugh! What about Schumacher in the 82 world cup semi or Roy Keane on Alfie Haaland?? You really need to get out more if that's your honest opinion.

Was over in Burt Co. Donegal a few weeks ago at a wedding. Went into the bar, liverpool were on TV, sat down with pint in hand, and watched a bit of the match, after a few minutes I noticed this fella sitting at the bar. That old green liverpool jersey was being worn by said individual. Double take looked at the writing where kids generally get their names on the back, he had the words "semtex" written on the jersey. I'm sure the irony was completely lost on him, thats the funniest part. Had I not been at the wedding I would have explained it to him. Anyway no one else seemed to take any notice, maybe that was the strangest thing of all.

Lads, most of the people Ive met away at matches have a love for GAA and Association Fotball. Many have also said to me that they would prefer their county winning an All ireland over Ireland qualifying for a world cup, but its a very close call between winning a world cup and winning an All-Ireland.

Having attended the All Ireland final and finals before, and manys a GAA game, and manys a soccer game, and met many different people from all parts of the country through both, I will say(ant though many wont want to agree - ill be arrogant even if only from my experience) that this is the thinking of the majority of Ireland Football supporters.

I dont know what it would be like for me to see Roscommon win an All-Ireland, or for Ireland to win a world cup, as i really cant imagine it happening, however I could never miss an Ireland soccer game, I could miss a Roscommon gaelic match(championship that is)

For me its actually wanting to see a LOI team in the CL group stages, and after that Mullingar Town finally getting their act together and entering (or allowed!) - a senior team in the LOI - jesus it would be great to welcome Rover Ultras and Bohs BBs to Dalton Park...............(by the way no rugby played here:cool:)

I follow the LOi, have lost interest in Oireland in the football, Rugby is good on the day and was good to stick it to my English friends when Ireland won the 6 nations, and gah is something you might look at while waiting for the news at 6.1

Oh id have no problem watching that match over and over again. I could'nt care less how long one teams trainers are on the pitch. So what?

Donaghy was on the pitch as a moar uisce, it was probably the only way he felt he could help out the team since he was injured.

As for dispicable moments in sport, I was'nt born till '83 so I did'nt see the 1982 wc.

Roy Keanes tackle was nasty but at lease it was against an opposition player who was actually playing and not a team official.

P.S the "most dispicable thing ive seen in sport" was probably a slight exageration. Cantona vs fan probably gets that title. (although i must admit i enjoyed it at the same time)

The WC obviously.

Anyway, Louth winning the All-Ireland would make people from Drogheda happy as well as people from Dundalk so it'd cancel out any joy I could get from it.. ;)

My first reaction to this was....... Galway winning an All-Ireland.

However with a bit of taught it seems that the ''winning the WC'' option is at an unfair advantage.

Really thinking about it, it would be the WC, but it's hard to picture considering we barely even qualify for the damned thing in the first place, while i remember vividly Galways wins in 1998 and 2001 and the buzz around town after the games.

I think a fairer example for the football one would be ''Qualify for the WC'', that's something we can associate with. We have about as much chance of qualifying as one of the big countries have off winning it, need to put things into perspective

It's like all the lads from Sligo and Louth are picking the WC, because they'll never experience their county winning an AI(because there's no tradition) so all options to them are fantasy picks, while in my position(firm follower of Galway GAA-both codes, Galway Utd, Ireland-home games.... ''fair weather '' Rugby fan i suppose) i can associate with one of the options, so my natural tendency was to pick that.

I'd say there will be more of a buzz around this WC if we make it, with the recession(as opposed to no recession), serious amount on the dole now and with the free time to head to the pub for the day.

Think I've said this before, but soccer, hurling/Gaelic football and rugby can all be great sports.


But on an Irish soccer site, people would want Ireland to qualify for the Football WC.

We'll never win it, but it does massive good for the country, hopefully resulting in some small national pride with the BIG no matter where they come from, FFS. If they're good enough for FIFA and qualify for an Irish passport (& can play), they're ours!

Whether the likes of Murfinator like it or not. Have you missed out on the concept of The Diaspora?
And most of the people he named either aren't good enough or had injury-affected careers so are of limited use anyway!

I'd take Bohs beating Derry and Rovers over all of the others put together!

I'd take Galway United winning the League over either of them but definitely WC in this case.

No, I don't think I'm being unduly sensitive, I just don't feel the abuse was warranted. No doubt he meant to go in hard with all the pent-up energy from ten years in Oz.
