Still raining in Sligo. Bloody hope it isn't called off seeing as I traveled up from Dublin today for the match.
But I'd be hopefull of it going ahead.

It's strange that the teams in the N.W Derry, Sligo and Harps) very seldom have games called off because of waterlogged pitches.
I don't think we have ever had one called off because of rain although we did have for snow twice I think.
Maybe it's because we are so used to having wet weather up here that our pitches must have better drainage systems. I know that Derry improved our years ago (early 90's) and since we have never had many problems since.
On the down side we have now 3 away games postponed, Pats twice and Cork. When they get played is anyones guess!
INfairness our game isnb't because of the pitch. Its only the 2nd game in about 10 years that we've had called off due to rain. Considering we're beside a river, thats not bad going.Quote:
