He was told not to go to the meeting after a row in the dressing room. Strachan gave out to McGeady, McGeady answered him back, Strachan told him he doesn't need to go to meeting if he already knows everything. That's where the problem is though. McGeady works very hard tracking back and shouldn't be shouted at for failing to hold off a player.Quote:

He wouldn't get in the Newcastle team. Seriously. Jonas has been one of the highlights for the toon army this season and I'd very much doubt Wise/Kinnear would look to add to a position that doesn't need covering when they have other more pressing areas of concern.Quote:

McGeady has accepted the ban and fine he received and now wants to get on with 'playing for celtic'. Good news, it would have been very messy if he had appealed, shows he is man enough to admit his mistake, take his punishment and get the head down again. should be involved against dundee at the weekend I'd say.
I have my doubts that McGeady will still be playing for Celtic, come the end of the transfer deadline.
I now think he'll be back in for the cup game. I didn't think McGeady would have backed down with his appeal. Himself and his father (a bloody gent) felt Strachan had been way too harsh on him so fair play to them for backing down. Barry Ferguson didn't do the same with Le Guen. He'd have left Rangers if Le Guen stayed. It shows how much the McGeady cares about Celtic.
Aiden McGeady will return to the Celtic first-team for Saturday's Scottish Cup tie against Dundee - his first game since serving a two-week suspension.
A dressing-room row in December with manager Gordon Strachan cost the 22-year-old two weeks' wages and saw him banned from playing for a fortnight.
The midfielder was available for last week's 1-1 draw with Dundee United but failed to make the squad.
BBC Sport has learned that McGeady will play in the fourth-round tie.
McGeady was disciplined following a dressing-room disagreement with Strachan following a 1-1 draw with Hearts on 13 December.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder, who has not commented on his censure, was entitled to consider a defence against the sanctions taken against him, but on Tuesday he chose to let the matter rest.
When pressed on McGeady's omission from the Celtic squad to face Dundee United, Strachan said he wanted to "stay faithful" to the players who had won the previous two games.
The Celtic manager also put McGeady's absence down to the rule that requires Scottish Premier League sides to include two under-21 players in their match-day squad.
Strachan refused to field questions about McGeady at Celtic's media conference ahead of the Scottish Cup tie against Dundee.

It's a cup game. Freezing temperatures against a lower league team. Anyway, Celtic fans are far from best in the world. Rubbish atmosphere at league games. European games and away games are a different story though.

McGeady wasn't great today bar 3 or 4 runs to create chances. He created the first goal superbly, beating 2 players one after another and playing the pass to Brown.

No harm for McGeady's prospects to have worked his way back into the team, put all the controversy behind him, regain his form and see what the options are in the summer. So far, Strachan has not frozen him out of the first team and surely if he is deemed good enough there will be more interested clubs in the summer time.

Probably his best game this season I'd say. Hopefully he kicks on now and has a great second half, and translates some of that form over to international duty.
Disappointing to see O'Dea left on the bench, even after McManus got injured (Loovens came on).

Back to Flood. I thought he was excellent, loads of energy, created a few chances, some good defending as well. He was really out to prove himself to Strachan I think and certainly wont have done his chances of a move any harm at all.
I feel for Dundee Utd tho, just not sure how much he would feature in Celtics first 11.
That was the worst I've seen McGeady in a long time. Pitch didn't do him any favours but it didn't seem to bother judge.
