what about the manager who won the Oscar Traynor trophy few years ago?
I have to disagree with eddie lads had a spell with blarney st as manager and didnt do much I think something fresh would be best choice..eoin fehily wouldn't take the job and thats 100% I have to say who ever takes over needs to bring in fresh assistants and build from scratch with the talent in cork cork should be doing better..
Are the cork aul committee gonna go for proven manager or will they go for an young an upcoming manager with hunger and drive, I would go for eddie kenny he is a fella with passion and hunger for the game, I know it didn't work out for him at blarney street but surely people shoudnt hold it against him these things happen in football 1 door closes and another one opens. May the best canidate get the job.
Would have to be someone with no ties to any prem club seems alot of players dont want to play or dont have time for training as there already tied up training with there own clubs the league champions of last season did not have a single player bar one on the panel i think ,i know theve lost a few but still would you find another league in the country where the league champs didnt have a player in the panel plus no offence meant by this but if the league want to have any chance the squads players should be playing top level football ie. Prem or prem a week in week out i know certain lads cant commit to it but then lads that can should be given the chance
Great post schoolboy I agree surely someone with no ties to a club must get the job imagine the advantage in signin playerd for your club if u were manager of aul and played for premier club
Agree with ya there, but as I've already said in another post that whoever gets the job, will NOT have the best players in the squad because for one not everyone wants to play with the AUL team due to different reasons and whoever gets the job will have folk on here moaning that this fella should be playing and that fella shouldn't. Poison chalice is what it is unless we all back him to the hilt.
Lads has everyone forgot fehily turned down the job previous ? Eddie had a go at management with blarney st maybe not enough experience at the moment to be number one ? What about someone like pat brown ex Everton senior manager and msl manager ? No ties to any club in the aul ? I agree with the post on the manager should not be actively involved on the management side wit his own aul club and the aul team.
Just my opinion lads that's all.
I'd say Brownie would have no interest in it. This is not to say he hasn't gone or does go but when you go to games you see a lot of the same faces and he's one face iv never seen outside of a game at Everton park where there isn't an AUL team. The guy who does get the job will have to know the AUL inside out. Nice to see the league try get it done early so the new manager has proper time so watch players and get his back room staff ready. Also I disagree with schoolboy it shouldn't matter what division your in if your good enough to play with the AUL panel league or division status doesn't come in to it.
Just giving brownie as an example why not give someone like him the job a very experienced senior manager doing nothing at the moment. As you say there starting early would give a fella like that plenty of time to get to know the players he wants. it would would be a major shake up admittedly but maybe something that could well be done with.
Let's be honest here Tricksey you'd want to have a screw loose to set yourself up for the grief that comes along with being the Aul manager . Not only will you be commented on no matter what you do , if you do get it right an find the right players there's no guarrentee they will play for the Aul .
The words out now due to social media like this that the Aul is an unhappy camp where the Oscar side is concerned .
And worse of all the only ones that could change it are the players within the league itself an we both know there's a lot who just don't care .
Any manager who takes a tack of notice of what's said on here has a screw loose ha.
Unforgiving job because everyone will have an opinion on it I would think it's a job anyone with some ambition should apply for it if your not applying for it I would hope there's goid reason other then the grief littleman
Me personally I don't have enough experience for the job , Its not a question of applying , more a
question of the things that are in your control if you got it , an that's why iv no interest in it.
The idea of having to convince players to play for a AUL representative team baffles me . Your not trying to sign them like . Your selected , you turn up an you play . Massive honour for the player, his club , his team mates an indeed his manager with being selected as one of the best players in the league . Fairly straight forward in my book .
100% nail on the head. At senior level I know fellas who get weekends off work to play in the mickey ward. Great honour in representing your county. And personally to be recognized as a standout player in your league.
Spot on here Littleman. To many players not bothered for one reason or another, in my day you'd bite someones arm off to get selected. If your selected now its a toss up of will I or wont I. A percentage of those picked then don't even bother turning up for training or challenge game's, then turn up on match day and are on the first eleven. Prob a sore point with some but that's the way it is. In my opinion your either committed to the panel or your not.
Lads it's hard to comment on why some fellas don't or can't play wit the aul team without them stating there reasons .i just no from a personal point of view ive always played for my representative team when called no matter what level it's nice to be recognised for your hard work.
It will be interesting to see who the management is be lots of speculation until then :)
Were Pender and James Leary not there from the start Killer? I'm sure they were so think you're wrong there
The fact is not every player regards the Oscar Traynor as important as some are making out .Players enjoy playing for their clubs and don't have time for extra sessions and matches that usually ends with being knocked out in the first ko round .The msl have the right idea with a shorter format that would suit most players.Continuity is the way to go though as far as the new manager and staff is concerned .
Dave Hill might take the job lads :D:rolleyes:
There was a serious squad put togegher last year by the lads but i think a lot of good players overlooked from both northside and southside...
More rain :(
Surely there will be a lot more game's on this weekend. I know rain is forecast but it aint all that bad. I suppose some pitch's are still damaged though.

They could trail run it for a season . But would be hard as in season going to go till May ??? For some team's . So if they where going to trail it it would mean starting again in June July ??? Could start league in july and have break Dec Jan start again feb just an idea that ye will all tear apart !!!!!!!!!
Summer football won't work, you could have fellas missing the whole time with Holidays and things like that.. I for one wouldn play summer football anyway.
Your right our ball you would never have a consistent team with fellas on holidays, sure 1 tackle on a hard pitch and your legs be ripped off ya and that would make ya think of making another tackle during game, I say in the next 10-15 years a lot of clubs will try and invest in astro turf pitches maybe that's the way forward.
