I know of a fella called Aenghus Ryder...
And that ain't a hard 'g'...
A mate who worked in a call centre once took a call from Frau Fanny Stiftung.
I think I have logged on to YBIG by mistake.
I can't promise anything.
Just leave this one here.

I don't get it.
I'm just glad we have finally taken to recognizing/celebrating/discussing only the male offspring of our players on here.
Whatever happened Richie Partridge and Michael Owen's sister? I had high hopes for what that union might result in. I'm sure eirebhoy is keeping a keen eye out too from up above.
Only had 1 league goal at this stage last season and finished with 10, so there's hope yet.
At least Claude Puel seems to like him.
Made his return from injury midway through the second half this afternoon.
Scary to think he will be in his thirties the next time we have an Intl match.
Austin's out but Long remains rooted to the bench.
Not looking good is it?
Hopefully his career doesn't turn out the way Doyle's did post-30.
It's an awful picture in fairness.

It hasn't been happening for Long so far this season, but it looks like he has avoided retrospective action for an elbow on Martins Indi midweek.

Watching the Bournemouth v Southampton game and I'm finding it difficult to see what it is Jay Rodriguez offers that Shane Long doesn't.
He hasn't done anything in the entire half so far.
Edit: I knew this would happen.
And he's only gone and scored a cracker as well. ;)
Man of the match to boot.
That's probably why I said he hasn't done anything in the entire half so far.
Steven Davis, who probably made more of an impact in the opening 15 minutes of the second half than any any of Bournemouth's midfielders did in the entire match, setting it up on a plate for him.
Garth Crooks too.

Schadenfreude works both ways, no?Quote:
Man of the match to boot.
No idea what you're on about.
Oh, just I've been accused of schadenfreude in the past.
That's all.
Thin skin and all that.
First goal of the season to give Southampton a 1-0 lead against West Brom.
Good man Joe, what a header!
Great header, note he started at the far post, left his marker behind and super header. His first I think this season?
Took a while for that one to register, a Long time you might say.
Mind you Southampton ended up losing which takes the shine off it somewhat.
Prior to that he has one goal in 25 games!! (v mighty Moldova). make that 30 if you include 5 goalless games form last season.
The difference between this and last season is remarkable
17 in 47 v 2 in 26 (was 1 in 26_).
Long's epic goal drought ends. Not so epic when you take into account he has only started 5 games, completed 1 of them and has often been shunted out on to the wing to accommodate Austin.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a few more starts regardless, as Boufal will be going to the ACN, Austin's still injured and Rodriguez has to be handled like fine china.

Linked with Hammers.
If Carroll were fit, I could see him and Long forming a beautiful partnership. They have rotten luck with strikers do West Ham.
West Brom latest team linked.

They aren't struggling for goals in fairness; their Scottish and Northern Irish contingent are scoring goals for fun ATM.
Started on the bench tonight but seemingly made an impact straight off the bench.

83: OFF THE BAR! Liverpool breath a huge sigh of relief as Long bursts in behind their defence, squares to Redmond and the forward's deft chip hits the bar before bouncing down onto the goal line. Southampton so close to putting the tie to bed.
It was a beautiful pass. Redmond was running onto it and Long clipped it in front of him with the outside of his right boot past the Liverpool defenders. Tough opportunity for Redmond at the same time though.
Highlights of the event here. He got round the player well, maybe be could have player the ball earlier.

Different angle at 7.14 you see the defender got a touch, I didn't see that first time.
92 minute winner for Long against Norwich in the cup replay
Isn't that kind of a long time for a ball to go into the net?
Goal here not sure if it available outside the BBC license payers union area.
Cross in from edge if the box on the touchline to Long centre of goal two yards out header hits keeper chest and rebound drops towards long who bundles it in with his feet*
* Actually I am not sure if he or the defender put in in the net?
