Well done to Park over the weekend, great result and best of luck in the next round. Glen were unfortunate to meet a Michael's team bang on in form, but they ran out deserving winners on the day. They gave us all hope when they brought it back to 2-1, but Michaels went straight up and scored again. Blarney street are unlucky not to be in the hat for the next round and played well on the day. Missed chances cost them, but thats football. Impressed with their style of play though and I suppose they now turn their attentions back to the league. Well done to both clubs on reaching the 7th round though.
Hows the farm looking for sunday.
Just saw the note from the Aul manager on Billys blog . He's a good manager an a very respectful person as well who I hope the Aul have good enough sense to allow to continue his great work , best of luck Donal an co on continued success .
CORK AUL SITE:
Communication from Donal Riordan:
Firstly I would like to thank the commitee of the AUL for giving me the opportunity to manage the team for the last 2 years, it was a fantastic experience.
Secondly to all the players who were part of the team over the last 2 seasons a big thank you, their dedication to what we were trying to achieve was exceptional. To the teams that were good enough to lets us use their players deserve a huge amount of credit for the fitness levels and skill levels they had was incredible.
Next to our Management teams over the last few years John Paul Cotter, Micheal Browne Eddie Kenny and John (Bird) Murphy a huge thank you for your advice and guidance in training and on match days
Just on the competition in general we were disapointed on both occasions to go out of the competition earlier then we expected especially this year and under the circumstances in which we lost was hard to take but having won the group without losing a game on both occasions was I feel a great achievement in itself.
To all the teams who played us in the challenge matches Cork City Glenthorn celtic Passage, Casement, Mayfield, Glen Celtic a big thank you and not to forget the welcome we got from Pearse Celtic and,Greenwood their facilties last week were exceptional and the way we were treated was fantastic.
Finally I think that everyone involved in AUL football in Cork should be very proud of the team and it goes to prove that the strength of junior football in Cork is very strong.
Has Donal not agreed too take over Leeview? Was told he has been training them for quite some time and also asked the AUL too let him combine both posts before the AUL were knocked out of the oscar trainer. I'm open too correction tho
leeview is a great club and doing very well playing some great football ,there playing crescent this week should be a cracker .
Lads - if the weather is as expected tomorrow and our games go by the wayside, we have an all weather booked for Saturday noon to 2pm. Secondly, does anyone have details of a good sports landscaper? Thanks - Ivan 0876540423

Lads, any of ye have yere game called off this evening or first thing in the morning, Blackstone have provisionally booked an all weather for 12 noon ko. - Past Grattans pitch while ago and theres pools on it so our game is "doubtful" . Contact IVAN on 087 6540423 if you fancy a challenge match. First in gets the game, any division, just to get a run out! Cheers!
Leeview 0-2 Crescent not an easy place to go and get a result on that surface but was well deserved in the end Crescent really impressive.
good game in fairness looked like nil all game all over it but crescent number 7 with to great strikes into the bottom corner, looking like crescent league to loose now ! but what do you expect from a div1 team 2 years ago pulls out for a year and bang back in the aul with almost the same squad but in div 3 as if it not a hard enough to win this section and you have the like of crescent dropping out and coming back in didnt park b do t a few year back too !!
Will many games get the go ahead today if anybody knows of any game off will ye post please lads to save a trip for some people.
Park and blarney st still going ahead going to leave it upto referee to inspect the pitch.
This always makes me laugh!! and it emphasises all that is daft in AUL football, "LEEVIEW IS A GREAT CLUB" - no, Leeview is potentially a good team until they too dissapear into the mists of AUL history within a short number of years or else perform the Cresent trick or the Kinsale trick or the Park B trick or the Kanturk trick ( OH! sorry they were kind of found out)
kilumney 3 v 0 springfield

INTER LEAGUE MANAGER:
CORK ATHLETIC UNION FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Applications are invited for the position of Manager of the Cork AUL Inter League team.
All applications, in writing and giving all relevant information, should be sent to Martin Conlon, 5 Glenryan Mews, Blarney Street, Cork, to arrive no later than last post on Friday, February 28 2014. WHO DO YE FANCEY TO BE THE NEXT AUL GAFFER......... ANY IDEAS LADS ?!?!
Im sure a couple of people on this would fancy themselves seem as tho they always have something to say about how cork aul team is run every year...I guess lack of EXPERIENCE in managing would come to mind
some of the best players in cork didnt play for one reason or another you cant have that.kearney .calla.crow and halla are 4 of the best in the game in cork its a squad game .and yes edward kenny is the man top bloke ,also on staff last 2 years keep it in house to make good the progress.thats 2 votes for edward couldnt go wrong with him.an old cork aul track suit wouldnt go a miss either this is not a blarney street opinion its my opinion.
Eddie or Fehily are the only 2 that should be considered.. A joint thing with both of them and the AUL would give the oscar traynor a rattle... Those 2 would get the best players in cork out and the AUL would have no excuses if they don't do well.. So my opinion one or both of them is the only way to go.
lets have a little fun with this little poll lads
