Derry/Finn Harps is one of the biggest derby's in Irish football, top 3 anyway.
Pineapple, would it be possible after this weekend to post something up showing each teams highest and lowest crowd of the season, if its too much work, then no worries, this must take up a lot of your time as it is.

There is slagging and a hatred but both sets of fans can easily stand together (when I say together I mean beside each other :) ) at a match.
Both sets of fans take on each other in a game in a few weeks time, should be fun.
It'd depend on which Dublin teams were doing well, but it'd be up there with Dundalk/Drogheda, any permutation of Bohs, Shels, Pats and Shams, but still miles behind the spectacle that is El Clasico at the Flan Siro!Quote:

I was really talking about LOI games. Agree re the drogs games for us, unusual for us that a team from 20 miles away would get a lower crowd that the likes of Rovers and Bohs, always our top 2 crowds. hopefully Derry will challenge that from next season.
ps Bullit, Newry had their chance to join up in 1983 when they returned to senior football, they made the wrong choice to return to the IL. Would have suited them much better to play LOI, especially with 3 other Ulster clubs in that years first ever FD, Finn Harps, Derry and Mons (and drogs not too far away either)

Am curious where did the 250 for Waterford v Athlone come from Stu? I know there was no mention of an official figure in the reports but that one is more than a wee bit low.

before last season it was a long time before we had a premier league derby, but in the interim there were FAI cup games, and these attracted huge crowds.
I think some older Dundalk fans do regard Rovers as more of a rivalry, but theres defo still an edge there, and the atmosphere at the derbies the last couple of years has been terrific.

Jodi was full at the Bohs game. Probably about 80-100 away fans. I find it's harder to tell how big a crowd is when you're sitting amongst them though.
No, our biggest crowd was the first Bohs game I think in May (3,200) The first drogs game was 2,550.Quote:

The New Stand, combined with the Railway End and Shed End was about 2000.
Then about 4-500 in the Jinks in our section and like you said about 300 Pats fans so ya not far off 3000.
Fair play to the Pats fans, rotten night and on a friday with good numbers.
