he was bang average when he came on on Saturday.
Yes looked like he was on the beach in Tenerife already!
Jack who?
Received his first call up since the switch, to an U-21 squad.

Goodbye Irelands Rose
What a thouroughly underwhelming U21 squad, nearly as bad as ours.

Nathan Redmond is still eligible for under-21? Madness.
The man must have been 12 when he debuted.
Is it time to lock this thread now? I seethe when I see his name pop up.
Keep the thread open!
He has to be capped at a competitive level for England before his switch becomes irreversible, this Toulon tournament does not count as a competition, at least not as an official competition. It's like the Milk Cup but for older lads.
But he now fails the Stutts Gut Test.
He's technically still eligible, but morally he isn't.
Came across this on Facebook. Made me laugh.

seen that too, made me cringe hard.
support the players who are at the tournament, nobody cares who isn't there
He wouldn't even have been selected for the tournament in the first place!?
I'd say he'd have been a well-integrated member of the squad now had he opted to stick with us, but it's certainly not something I'm hung up on.
It does strike as a bit clingy or begrudging. It was his choice and people ought to let it go considering we never owned him. In all possibility, he's perfectly content to be sitting at home with the challenge of developing a senior England career something to look forward to in the future. For players who switched to us from the IFA, for example, it was a case of them preferring to have a fighting chance of playing for their country over racking up caps for a team with which they didn't identify. That's not to say that Grealish didn't identify with us; just to say that he won't necessarily be regretting his decision just because he failed to make the England Euros squad.
Nevertheless, I did see some humour in the flag. :)
Now, this one's definitely funny.

'I felt more English than Irish' - Jack Grealish explains allegiance switch
77th minute substitute today. Feels kinda good. Yes, I'm a petty, bitter man...
I wonder did we dodge a bullet with this guy

It is edging closer & closer to no f*c#in' loss territory alright. Hopefully.
Nice way to reward AVCF for the new four year deal too - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37438851
The Grealish's have just been defamed with some very strong, very silly accusations on YBIG.
Disgraceful. I've brought it to the father's attention on Facebook. I will leave it up to him if he wants to sue. I know I would!
Perhaps instead of bringing up YBIG on several threads we can just have one dedicated thread to discussing what they're saying there.
I thought the true voice of YBIG was represented here by Paul.
what was alleged? PM is fine...
You should have stuck it out with the ybig forum, Stu.
Grealish was dropped from the England under-21s starting line-up after having turned up late to a team meeting: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...land-U21s.html

The kid at least had the integrity not to accept a senior cap or three, unlike the aforementioned cockney geeza, and is deserving of higher esteem as a result. It’s just a pity for him that he’ll probably wind up with 25-30 England caps when he could have had 80 plus for us along with a lifetime of adulation. Wish him every success with Villa and to be fair, he deserves an England call-up. Perpetual mediocrity inevitably beckons in that regard but you have to respect his decision, however, if our current crop of under-21’s have the same belief in themselves as he does, we’ll be fine without him.
I think he'll struggle to start for England regularly. I'd imagine he's competing with the likes of Madison and Sancho for the attacking midfielder role and both of them are arguably better and have more experience. Added to that you also have the crop of Chelsea players coming in (Hudson-Odoy, Mount, Loftus-Cheek) all of whom are likely to have played a reasonable amount of Champions League or Europa League games in the next few years.
Called up to English squad as a replacement
