2nd place is now between Geraldines & Shannon Town...............
Shannon have Charleville home and away and also have Herbertstown at home afaik.
Dines have Mungret at home, not sure of their last game though? think its Balla "B"????

balla beaten 4-2 today
Tues 26/05/09 @ 18.30
Star Rvs v Mungret Reg
Dont think theres much point now in playing the above game, seeing as though Mungret have the league won and Star cant get promoted, especially as both clubs are involved in big cup games 2 days later on Thursday 28th? (Star away to Summerville in the Div 1A Cup & Mungret v Boro in the Semi of the Lawson), so the most sensible thing to do would be to call this game off, or else you could see both teams fielding their B teams on the Tuesday.
well thats what there players said to us this morning,ya tis tight down there alright,we have 3 league games left the rest have 2 we have to play croom ,hill celtic and the dines, first 2 supposedly at home and dines away.We were supposed to be at home today but have no pitch and i assume thats the story for the rest of our season
going be an interesting last week. lets hope mungret dont think they have to make an effort now when playing dines, as this is dines trickyest game. if mungret put out normal side and play like normal this will make game very interesting for promotion. shannon have 2 tough ones with charleville away and home. best of luck to both camps.
can anyone inform which way fixtures are lining out, who have shannon first to play and so on.... and who have dines to play first out of their last 2
We have Croom in the cup Tuesday, potentially Balla B in the cup Thursday...Balla B in the league on Sunday next and our last league game Tuesday week against Mungret.
We're confident...we beat shannon well few weeks back, the pressure is on them against charleville home and away. going back to shannon out in shannon we missed a penalty in last ten or fifteen minutes for 2-0. They equalised in stoppage time, hope it doesn't come back to haunt us, again today...last minute goals. Of course i'd say it but i think we're the better side and deserve to go up.
Well done mungret-bout time! Hope geraldines get 2nd. Any1have thoughts on team of the year??
i'll second that well done again to mungret by far the best team in 1A this season, going to be nail bitin going into the last week very tight for second place and very interesting at the bottom i think its going to be prospect and balla for relegation i heard both teams lucky to be able to field teams the weekend and balla were supposed to have 2 players sent off dont know how true that is but?
sorry shannon man...thats the second time i've done you that injustice. What about the second goal a few weeks back? Didn't get near that one did you? Lol seriously though...best of luck in you're remaining games. It's going right to the wire
Would expect Shannon to get the six points against Charleville with Charleville having nothing to play for. Herbertstown are also safe now so should get the other three from that one. Up to Dines then to get max points if they can hold nerve.
I'd disagree...even though the teams have nothing to play for they'll still give it a good go. Shannon dropped points against Hill Celtic recently and have a lot of pressure on. They can't drop any points or it's over. Even if we drop points its still up to them to punish us.
Have a point just with it getting so late in the year and with the GAA in full swing I see the teams that are at full strength and need the points more as more likely to get the points. That goes for Dines too, I would expect Dines to beat Balla even tho balla are battling to stay up and depends then what kind of team Mungret put out or have available.

The above table shows Cappamore losing 3pts for using an illegal player, and game awarded to Herbertstown, which has been confirmed by the LDMC.
WWW.LIMERICKSOCCER.COM is now updated.
how many games have cappamore given away this season between playing illegal players giving other teams walkovers and so on have the LDMC no account for all this underhandedness i heard that 6 games into the season that cappamore were pulled from div 1A but sure here we are at the business end of the season and there still doing what has been happening all season. best of luck to all the teams involved in the dog fight at the bottom of 1a
well lads we'll be looking forward to playing ye next season and we won't be here to make up the numbers;)

Looks like Shannon has the easier run in for promotion. Geraldines up against the champions (although after star hammered em 6-1 they might not be up to much) and balla who are fighting for survival.
Shannon have charleville twice? Id expect them to win both as charleville dont have much to play for.
Overall I think Geraldines will win both their league games and win promotion.
Star 6 Mungret 1
Bad hangover for the champions
Jes they must have been out all weekend celebrating were ye lads :):)
were ye missing many players versus Star???
Oh and may i send my congrats to ye on been the best team in the leauge:D
Mungret have a Lawson cup semi-final on thursday night so last night was really just a kickabout, nobody wanted to get injured and most of the lads were celebrating winning the league on Saturday and Sunday so were not in the best shape last night. All the lads will be up for the cappamore game and Geraldines game, it would be an injustice to other teams if we weren't.
