If they point them in the direction of Wexford then Limerick will have nothing to
complain about! ;)

It is called advertising to the locals. The shiny light will draw in the masses. Everyone in Tallaght will know when "their club" is playing. It will psychologically impose itself on the local population. Everytime they see the big light in the sky every estate in Tallaght will think of Rovers. This is why the GAA tried so hard to kill off Rovers in Tallaght as they knew how powerful this kind of thing is.
Brilliant move on Rovers part. I think Rovers will get huge crowds. Was talking to people out there with no interest in LOI and they are literally salivating to get in and support Rovers. The club are set forever really. As a Bohs fan I should not be saying this, but everyone in the League should be wishing Rovers well in Tallaght as this is the future for all of us. If Rovers in Tallaght takes off big time the rest of the league will gain.
any photos of the new Rovers lights BTW?
Seem the same height as ours as well but there are more rows of lights. If it is Musco Lighting they would have a standard height to match the lux of the bulbs.
Someone can correct me here if I am worng but I believe Musco rate the lux 1 metre from ground level while licensing measures the lux at ground level.
I think they're exactly the same as wexford's
Only seen the Tallaght ones by car but very, very similar
i agree with you but i think they could possibly go on to pull away from everyone else in the long therm and it could become a 1 club league. like currently cork city are the biggest club in the league/island:D but i think rovers will overtake us this year especially with there huge season ticket sales so far.
Poster on OW said he seen a "crew" testing the pitch as we speak, rolling and bouncing the ball etc...
Latest news out of Oriel is htat it has failed:eek:
Nothing happens next. If the FAI let Drogheda in the premier with a pitch that does not meet regulations they can hardly stop Dundalk.
Although it would be somewhat humourous.
Just on the pitch inspection : all the tests have to analysed. No official results have been given but club do not anticipate any problems.

when do we expect to be given the results?
Think it takes a few minutes, if it turns blue then yes, if it turns red then no....;)
If it does fail will George have to go back to England? :(

Can be seen right across the southside apparently...
Still no word on the pitch anyway.....*gulp*.....

That looks awesome!
The seats are a joke though. Wtf were they at??? Even I'd be getting a little excited looking at that tbh. Don't tell anyone though :p
So does United Park meet these dimensions?
The minimum size of the playing area is therefore:
• Width 68.5 m (75 yds)
• Length 104.5 m (115 yds)
Well you are the one who said the pitch didn't meet criteria and alleged the FAI are allowing the Drogs to play with a pitch that doesn't meet requirements. So you tell me what the pitch dimensions are to back up your statement.
I only asked how it didn't comply. I have no idea of the pitch size and had no idea of the requirement
I've searched for details on DUFC's pitch size but can't find any. I certainly recall plenty of stuff from DUFC themselves on why United Park couldn't be used for the premier without the derogation due to the new ground and these included space issues.
1.0 That's the same chairman that said at the same meeting that none of the Directors were involved in the Stadium relocation for the money and they had only the interests of DUFC at heart!!
2.0 I measured the length of United Park using Auto-Cad. It is LESS than the minimum requirement. Did the FAI even measure their own pitch as part of the licensing procedure?
and finally
3.0 I would have been of the opinion that United Park had one of the best playing surfaces. Did you see the state of the surface on Tuesday evening? If its like that before the start of the season what will it be like next October. It appears that pitch maintenance work fell by the way-side due to your finance troubles.
