So said Delaney when asked what he was doing for LoI, didnt RTE deny it? not that that changes the RTE attitude either. I vaguely recall a snide 'when LoI isnt one man and a dog at games it would be seen differently' in the 90s (pre provinical Heineken Cup involvement) and RTE promptly showed AIL rugby mostly at an empty grounds where the only infrastructure was a rope fence along one side of the pitch. Annoying that, werent uncomfortable - could keeper have done better or good finish. McEleney clipping the crossbar straight after, a goal would have taken some of the sting out of their tendency to play on the break so far. Cant give the ball away cheaply obviously
It's been fairly even in fairness except Dundalk sitting very deep when they have the ball

Vitesse do have the feel of a team playing a pre-season friendly which is a bit worrying.
I was going to say it feels generally like a preseason friendly. Dundalk have another gear but Vitesse probably 2 or 3. McMillan has met his match with defenders this evening, commanding in the air, 1st touch flicks well covered. Ball in to space wide looks to be the best opportunity to get something. Lack of pace at the back is hurting us as as soon as possession coughed up we are scrambling and not making up for it with positioning or imposing physically. Its worrying us enough for Abibi to kick it long more often than playing it out. Not pressed high so much as they seem to be able to close very quickly.
