Any match report from the Newmarket game the weekend? What was the team? They have a big couple of weeks ahead.
Newmarket had a full strength team, as said earlier Rineanna lost 3-1. Rineanna took the lead through a set piece straight off the training ground.
Daithi levelled the game on the hour mark but was about six yards offside, Stephen Kelly scored the second with ten mins to go with what can only be described as a cross. Duck scored a free kick in the last kick of the game from a very dubious call from the Ref.... and to top it all off, they forgot to turn on the hot water for the showers i have been told.... Best of luck in the FAI semi final.....
Rineanna goal was a GK error.
Daithi's goal was a well timed run from a long way out to just meet the ball with the most deft of touches.
Stephen's goal was a peach of a goal, catching the keeper off his line.
Darren's goal was just one of those that he hits all too frequently and go in all to infrequently.
Game was a one sided affair even if Rineanna did take the lead. Better finishing by Newmarket would have killed the game as a contest early on but fair play to Rineanna they showed they are way better than a 3rd Division side. They will kick most teams in that division into submission.
As for the showers, sorry about that oversight. Good luck to Rineanna on their quest to return to where they belong. Division 2 :)
I'm not one for getting into an arguement behind a faceless log on but i have to say i think NOF wont go any further , they beat a D 3 side 3-1 with only 2 of the goals coming in the last 10 mins - - if they have any ideas of competing in Munster Junior / FAI { oh sorry they got knocked out of that } or county leagues / cups they seriously need to imprve
On just another point at least the game wasnt played under lights -
What league are they top of old git?
Hearing there was a bad incident in the Bridge tonight after the U19 match. Absolutely appalling and disgraceful carry-on from the Ennis Town players if true. Allegedly Bridge players were attacked inside their own dressing room after the game and also the referee attacked. The behaviour of these thugs (who clearly haven't a scrap of interest in playing the game) cannot be condoned and hopefully the book is thrown at them.
Heard about this incident aswell last night but as i wasnt there I wouldnt like to speculate. Doesnt sound good though
What happened in the Bridge? If something like what MikeBassett described happened then the club but especially the players should be severely disciplined.
I ask a silly question i get a silly answer.....
Do you have the line ups?
On the Bridge game if it is true , hope all players involved get a severe punishment. It has no place in a game of football.
What has happened since the days when you go in hard but as soon as that whistle is blown you shake hands and get on with it...
Few clubs in Clare letting this kind of crap go on.
Am I right in thinking that ref is a cop. . Them boys should have the book thrown at them
