How many do the stands hold? They were both more or less full. There was almost a thousand of us. 4,000 in total sounds about right.

I would have guessed around 3,300 to be honest. I thought Galway would have gotten something like we got in our semi against Derry a couple of years back, so was suprised to see such a poor turnout.
Enjoyed the game and atmosphere. And it was a good result for us as it means we are still in contention for europe.
our game had a good attendance .. shels brought a large travellin support reckon that our gate was around 500 people
Athlone Town vs Sporting Fingal official attendance 263
The official attendance at the Galway United vs Derry City semi-final was 2,874.
If would have estimated the crowd at 3,500, but seeing as the gates were monitored by Derry City, I would have to take the above figure as correct.
Just wondering Pa what way they accounted for the family tickets €30 for 2 adults & 2 kids that could be where the discrepancy is as there was a lot of them sold in Galway and Derry.
2,000 at Dundalk vs. Limerick.
362 at UCD v Bohs (that's the Big Club, for reference...)
ah no need to be bitter, a ucd fan slagging another club over their attendance...irony of all irony! you do realise that this was a meaningless game for bohs and a relegation decider for you, yet the attendance was that low and you expect the away fans to boost your it????????????
bohs attendances (home and away)should be better for league champions but something you should take on board is that the bowl on a cold night is not an attractive destination, not least for a meaningless game (for the away fans i mean)
get your own house in order before slagging other clubs for not bringing enough fans to your games especially when the game means so much to your club
Awful crowd in United park, 500 at most with over 50 of that Harps fans. Disappointing when you consider the financial plight they are in and the fact they are last season league champions.
I'd say there was between 300 and 400 at the Bray match last night.
monaghan town match **** crowd reckon sixty to seventy people at it..
Not one bit surprsing, drog fans are well known for deserting their club in times of need, the season before they got promoted, 2001 I think, they got well below 500 at most games. I could never understand why the people of the town didnt get behind their team more when they needed it.
2,200 at least for the rovers game. Not official as i was not chatting to my mate at turnstiles tonight. But at least 2,200 is open to correction.
150-200 Shams fans at the game.
Would have said 2000. 1500 in red stand. About 500 between the blue stand and the two ends. One of our bigger crowds of the season.
O ya and our average figure for the season which is 1881 is definitely way to much. It can't be much more than 1500,our attendances are constantly overestimated.
Fairly accurate judgement from inside man. Bout 80 Shams though, another thing Rovers fan, main stand= 1700 full. 1550 seats plus area at back of stand!
Agreed 1,500 red stand. Big crowd behind goal on both sides which i estimated at 300. About another 400 in Jinks = 2,200.
Don't know why you would think that. When i have been handing yous official figures for alot of the season. And i seen the ones early on. Nothing overestimated in them. It is of course over 1,500, seeing as for nearly all of our games would see the red stand full if you take people from behind both goals and put them in = 1,500 at least as red stand holds 1,750. Then to say there is another 300-500 in blue stand is very accurate if you ask me. hence the 1,900 average as we have got some bumper crowds this season also ; Pats early on, Shams x 2, Derry, Bohs early on. Which would bring the average up on woefull home attendances such as UCD. So don't come on here and say my figures aren't accurate when they certainly are.
Do you understand the meaning of the work "average"?
As in, having a few crowds close to 2000 means your average is likely to be nearer 1500 than 1900.
Trust you to to get involved. Never mind that biggot Rovers Fan. He is talking nonsense. Your the fella who when fans post their estimations of the matchs even when there may be five who say 1,400 and one ejit like Rovers Fan to say 900 you chose 1,000 as the figure. Where is your bloody averge there?
I was pointing out bad maths. You've agreed, yet you "get involved" anyway for some reason, even though I never commented on Sligo's attendances.
(Though for the record, I think they're too high)
I think most fan guesstimates are too high. Don't take it personally.
Lowest league ATT at the Brandywell this season.Around the 1,700 mark.
Obviously even some season ticket holders couldn't make a sunday night game!!!
Yeah, it was a bit muted alright. I think a combination of trip to Galway/upcoming cup final/Halloween weekend spending/fairly meaningless game/F1 conclusion kept a few of the more 'casual' fans away. I imagine the Cobh game will be much the same.
Athlone Town vs Wexford Youths official attendance 273
I would have thought much less than 1700 in the randywell.
About 20 Galway fans and 20 Harps fans there :D
Hold on a minute there now! Drogs supporters have jumped to the rescue of the club on numerous occassions throughout our history. Just last wednesday night between 400 and 500 supporters turned up to an emergency meeting held about the state of the club and the setting up of a trust. Yes the general people of the town don't support the club as much as they should, but that can be said for every LOI club in the country!
As for the crowds of well below 500? What do you expect when we finished 2nd from bottom of the 1st division that year!!
A bit harsh! Dundalk fans seem to be getting on their high horses recently about attendances. Looking back through this thread the average attendance for Dundalk was just under 500 three seasons ago so saying drogs fans are well known for deserting their club is a bit hypocritical
The explanation for that was that we had the pitch debacle so Dundalk plyed their home in the KCP and United Park. even the most dedicated supporters have their limits
300-400 people to turn up to save their club is a very very low figure. Considering their gates this season is close to 1800. Would of expected at least a thousand.
Drogheda don't mind they have their one league and one cup so they'll be happy to going back to proping up the league in 2 years
How low is it Jinxy? Cork didn't have much over 100 for a similar meeting when they went into examinership. Their trust has something like 200/250 members and look what they have achieved.
D*ndalk fans, heads out of a*ses please!
For a club on its knees I'd of expected more locals to attend.
I thought the general drogheda public would care more for their hometown club and be interested in what Mr. Hoey had to say and to question some of the decision made by Mr. Hoey and the other 2 (not being disrespectful just can't remember their names) and to ask a far reaching question in why after spending 12m over 4 years can they not spend .5m to the revenue? Doesn't make sense and before you attack me and other dundalk fans to wish ill on drogheda we don't, louth needs two clubs.
In fairness there is other threads on all that Jinxy!
