That would make it quite a bit bigger than the main stand in Derry, which runs the full lenth of the pitch and a bit and would make it about the same size as the Jodi..... :eek:Quote:

re st annes end: lets say each of the 5 blocks is 18X25 seats.that gives a total of roughly 2250 seats.another 250 would comfortably fit standing on the grass and at the sides, but i doubt that is officially allowed-no grass or loose soil/ground as per uefa licensing?
for a start, the capacity is nowhere near 9000. 7200 tops imo (if standing in st annes end is included). 1850 main stand, 1100 small stand, 1500shed, 2250 st annes end seats, 250 st annes end standing means the capacity is round about 7000 on the dot.
btw theres a good 360 view of turners x available on the cork official site.
i estimate the attendance last night was 6250.thers was about 150 empty seats on the derrynane side, and a couple of hundred empty seats in the st. annes end
'twil be interesting to see when the official figure is published.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rovers v waterford on friday, id say 1250. 350 Rovers.900 waterford though i didnt get agreat view of waterfords crowd, though there were plenty of empty home seats near our section. doubt the crowd was anywhere near the 1600 mark mentioned earlier

jodi stand at dalymount holds 2742
:o Oh Dear supporting the club from Hogan Park I guess I'm not used of gazing upon such magnificent structures ;) Wasn't blaming you for the 1600 thing either it's a bit of a pi$$ take from your website. The game against us earlier on in the year when we brought 4 up definitely but not the other night.Quote:

Update after the weekend. Last season in brackets. (2) indicates a match in the second round of games.
I'm going with 6000 for Cork-Shels, 1500 for Waterford-Rovers and 100 for Dublin City-Galway based on the various guesstimates here. Post on the Harps forum from a Derry fan putting Harps-Drogheda at 700.

i went to the homefarm-galway match with my cousin who's from galway and i counted about 15 galway fans at least 110 dublin city supporters, mostly families... terrible support, glad galway won. :p ill be very dissappointed if home farm get promoted this year.
Anyway that makes 125 at the match approx.
A highly skeptical source I'd say to be fair.Quote:

I was surprised crowd so big given record this season & that was August.
I'd say 6,000 mightn't be far off. Good few empty seats in St Anne's and in Shels section of Derrynane.
There was at least 500 more at the Bohs game at the end of last season. The St Anne's was packed that night with at least twice as many standing there.
What figure was included for that match?
True - yer man does seem to have a reputation as a bit of a wind-up merchant too. On the other hand, no-one's questioned the figure yet.Quote:

Hard to believe for the league leaders , surley the UEFA licensciung laws should have a minimum requirement for fans, 80 home fans is not good enough for a senior league about time the league did something about the deadwood clubs going nowhere, before I am accused of bias I acknowledge that DC have a good team and manager and will get promoted but are they good enough as a club for the premier divison.Quote:

Club = Team + Facilities + Fans + History , if you are lacking on 3 fronts you should be playing Leinster league rather than taking up space in the premier division. The current structure is a joke with regional teams dying in the first divison and too many Dublin based teams.
Yes the regional teams are dying in the 1st Division but it is up to us to get out of it not look for an easy way out.Quote:

Agree with the point that 80 home fans at a match involving a team at the top is terrible even ourselves rooted to the bottom of the league can muster 200 or so die hard supporters. But then we have been around since 1887 thats 118 years
Lets seeQuote:

Team...Well we have one of them and building a better one to get us out of this division next year. Only working of a €3000 budget here.
Facilities.....We will have excellent facilities from the start of next season.
Fans.....We have some of them even though a bit sparse this season. But remember it is easy sing when your winning.
History...Around 118 years so is that long enough
How could you implement a rule like that on those points. It would mean that we would be able for the premier. I dont think so.
Do you think that you are good enough for the premier division. On your results against us I doubt it. 0-0 and 1-0.
