It more mitigates against loaning him out than a contradiction.
Sounds as if there have been many requests to take him out on loan, McCarthy is willing and the manager is mulling over it.
sure couldn't they recall the loan or whatever its called in soccer parlance if that were the case then.
If you read the article. He says he will review it in Janaury. If they bring in other (perhaps more senior/experienced) players in the transfer window, Martinez will be more comfortable letting him go out on loan - if they dont, then he wont.
James gets his first goal for Wigan in the FA Cup this afternoon.
Just scored for Wigan in the FA Cup. Hope this is omen for a great year for him
but yeah, fck it, its easier for plebs to just write the 19 year old off as a failure and overrated... You know who you are.:rolleyes:Quote:
"Turnaround at the DW Stadium. It's Wigan 2-1 Hull, as 19-year-old James McCarthy sends in a shot which takes a deflection and goes past the hapless Bo Myhill.
the reporter on Sky said the goal has capped off a very good alround performance by him
ok scoring against hull well done but he was apparently being watched by barcelona. i did get the impression he was going to be deadly. eirebhoy had a good post though explaining that with his style he prob won't show his talents until he's about 26.
he is 19 though - too young to be rating a player nevermind overrating or underrating. Colbert Report marked him out as a failure a week or so ago and that remark was met with some agreement.
That sort of sensationalism is ridiculous.
Scored for Wigan in the FA Cup today
Fair play to McCarthy, a good performance today against a Hull reserve side. Hopefully 2010 is the year he finds some good form, I would love nothing better than to be wrong about him.
Some of these comments are beyond belief, if any other country had a 19 year old score for the first team it would be hailed as a massive achievement and a great pointer for the future of the player.
I'm delighted for the lad, and hope this is the extra boost he needs to make the step up from reserve to regular first team football. If he's as good as they say, then the big clubs will come back for him when he proves himself at Premier League level.
Give him time FFS
