janesboro v mungret off due to referee not showing up.this is an absolute disgrace.janesboro groundstaff had pitch looking immaculate as always.must have been getting it ready since 4pm.both teams warming up before 5.45pm.people started getting worried at 6pm when there was no sign of ref.the most shocking thing of all is that nobody from either club got a phonecall and when calls were made nobody from junior council or referee assoaciation seemed to have an answer or solution.a referee not turning up for any game is totally unacceptable let alone for a premier division fixture.what makes it worse is that alledgedly the referee rang his superiors yesterday to say he couldnt make the game.if this is the case why did nobody get a call?there must have been 40 people up in janesboro.the council and referees association have no respect for clubs doing there most to get matches on and players getting off work and driving all over the country/town to get to games on midweek evenings.its totally unacceptable for all persons concerned and somebody should be held to book over it but as usual there wont be.

what do people on this forum think about the fact that we now have betting on premier league games?this could be viewed as a bit of fun but it could also be opening a can of worms for players and referees to be throwing matches especially if its to be believed that someone posted last week on this site won 1500euro.not a bad few quid if your out of work.i heard only today that a certain referee in town was throwing odds around for a premier game that occured last week which he reffed to end in a draw?the game ended in a draw albeit controversially
i think it was one of the polish refs down to ref the game.nobody knows the mans personal circumstanced today and ive never heard of him not turning up before but as i said if he told the referee association/council yesterday that he couldnt make the game and they didnt have the courtesy to ring a representative from either club then that is a total lack of respect for all involved from both clubs.

fair play to star they played very well and in shane walters have one of the best players in town a brill young player who gave us a real tough night. first half was as poor as carew performance iv seen in a long time star were 2 up at the break. 2nd half was alot better we dominated the game pulled a goal back from jamie o sullivan then arrive yet again another incredible decsion by a ref when the star keeper pulled off a fantastic save only for the rebound to fall to jamie o sullivan who was about the slide it into the net when mark keane slid in and stopped the ball going into the net with his hand it was comical mark was roaring laughing. star scored there 3rd on the break late on carew went up the field won a pen and missed it summed up the night but well done star. have to say glad the midweek games are gone really struggling with it as i say are most teams

carew park 1-3 star. Lads watched this match and i must say carew were shocking again conseeded 2 shocking goals in the first 20 min played a bit better in the second but have to say star deserved full points shane walters was the best for star with 2 goals, carew missed a peno as well, must say taught the carew manager made some strange subs in the match 1 or 2 players left on the field looked like they did,nt want to be their whether it was the cold or what they,d want to start pulling their socks up and getting their heads down cos they have a big game sunday and if they play like that they,ll get hockied....
If a club didnt show they would be fines, if the ref is wrong he should be told to ref a game or games for free, if hes right and told the proper people in the refs commitee, they should be fined, at the end of the day, they are the only people getting paid on the pitch,(well in most clubs):p
regional 2 balla2. balla should of won at the end
also there and i agree carew missing some big players but still had a strong enough team out. but i agree i think there manager looks lost when things are not going there way alot of players i reckon dont have confidence in him the way he set carew up tonight was really strange it looked to me he was asking people on the sideline what to do. it would be a real shame if he ruined a very good team when all players there.
i wouldnt be too hard on the managment team, its hard to get into managment and do it right the first time out after finishing playing, give them time, and asking people for advise, id take that as a good thing, at the least there not been stubborn, and wants to learn..
Shane only got one goal but did also hit the crossbar , it was Paul Lonergan that got 2 goals tonight, and in fairness Carew had the peno saved 3 mins into the 4th min of injury time (which was debatable, as the ref originally gave a free only to change his mind after a few verbals from Carew and then gave a pen) so I dont think it would have made much of a difference.
Also some posts above about Carew missing players tonight, but Star were missing 5 from the squad, and 3 of those would be starters................but thats what having big squads are all about.
What was the carew line-up
