Very bad draw. How come so many have a bye from the first. I can remember the last few years it was only a few teams.
3 top flight teams only drawn out and 7 with byes. Something ain't right there

Ya thats funny how it worked out alright. 17 byes is an awful lot and 7 of them from the prem. Anyone at it ?
It's simply down to the no. of teams. As there are 47 teams the only way to get it to 32 is for 15 first round games and 17 byes.
Any other way would necessitate byes in later rounds. It's unfortunate for the 15 teams that go out in round 1. As regards only 3
Premier sides being involved, there's no conspiracy at work here.... just plain old fashioned luck.
Would 17 ties in a preliminary round not have cut it to 32 teams without giving ANY byes?
Not too sure the conspiracy theory is too sound. Kinda hard to fix the draw when so many clubs are represented in the room, also in a competition with 47 teams if you play 17 games in a preliminary round it would result in 17 winners + still leave 13 with a bye into round 1, add the 17 winners and the 13 byes and thats 30 which would then need another round with Byes to get it to 16. I reakon its always better to get all the byes out of the way early and then its just a straight draw every round.
Munster junior cup 5th round draw
Springfield v abbeyfeale utd
Ballananty rvrs v killeaney
Was at Kilarney Celtic v. Shamrock Rovers last night in Kilarney. Best junior facilities I have ever seen. Fantastic dressing rooms/meeting rooms, astro turf, 2 pitches, railed off, 300 allseater stand, 200 allseater stand, 4 dugouts, all to the highest standard. And do you know what? Desmond league clubs have as much ambition, when you compare how far Desmond league clubs have come compared to how they were 20 years ago you see how far they have come and how far they will go. The future is bright.
The Youth League IS a shambles Leon, and Desmond League club's facilities HAVE improved 10 fold in the past 10 years Leon. Which one of theses statments are rubbish to you? Forgive me for putting a positive slant on things while at the same time agknowledging the faults and issues that need attention.
Any news on games going ahead tomorrow lads?

Adare and NCW have two of the poorest fields in the Desmond League. The league are not giving themselves much chance of any progress being made in the Premier.
Surely they will force Adare to play the game in the Manor grounds ? Another thing has to happen is the Clounreusk pitch be made available for night matchs to allow teams to catch up on league games. Why not a Wednesday night ?
Sonny Lynch, former Chairman Broadford United Afc RIP.
All the league cup games should be played in Clounreask on week nights to free up Sundays for league & Desmond Cup games, as a neutral venue no team would have an advantage. Each division would only take 9 nights to finish!Would also give sides that don't usually play under lights a chance to do so.
