how about something to the tune of Gilbert O'Sullivan's "Matrimony"?!
To the air of Bananarama's "Hey Hey Goodbye"
Giovanni
Giovanni
Hey Hey Hey
Trapatonni!!
What about an irish tune ....Oro sé do Bheatha bhaile is real easy and would be a rousing chant...would love to here this and it would be ours not taken from other fans..just a thought
Óró, sé do bheatha 'bhaile! Óró, sé do bheatha 'bhaile!
Óró, sé do bheatha 'bhaile! Anois ar theachtTrappattoni.
Translation is
Óró, you are welcome home! Óró, you are welcome home!
Oro, you are welcome home! Now that Trap is coming.

I applaud your effort here but the reason that the PAOKara (PAOK), Artur Boruc (Celtic) and Champione (Liverpool) songs are so popular is that the complete version consists of 4 LINES!!!
This is probably because a ramdom supporter is willing and able to learn 4 lines therefore it becomes catchy, any longer and it is far too much effort and only the chorus gets sung.
A 4 line song can be sung over and over and over again building up momentum as it goes.
A PAOKara style song is a good option but it has to be limited to one version universally (or close to a lot of people) agreeing.
Why not post all PAOKara style versions and let us have a vote and then move on together????
Gio Trap,
Gio Trap,
Gio Trap,
Gio Trapattoni
Simple, catchy?
Yeah great song the one from the Wind that Shakes the Barley would make the hair on the back of your neck stand.
ya, agreed so someone do something there about it...
neil: i used to live with 2 of the fellas singing that in the film, over here in london. One of the lads thought it was going to be his big break but i haven't seen him in anything since.
Welll I will sing it in Norway no problem. I think the away trips are always going to be the places where these things start.

there ya go
maybe if the mods put up a list of suggestions..get people to vote and go with one for the time being..if that catches on go to the second choice and then bring that on as well
i like this version, fast forward to 4:17....
really fast and quick version:

agreed earlier that cruachan with shane mcgowan is the best version
Óró, sé do bheatha 'bhaile! will sound like the Drunken Sailor to the uninitiated so we could end up a laughing stock
This is probably balls, but once you sing it to yourself a load of times you may think it works, if not tell me to go f**k!! Not a liverpool fan but the song they sing rafa rafa etc...
i was thinking......
G I, G I O, G I, G I O G I, G I O
Giovanni Trappatoni
Short and sweet, i like it.
Is that the to the tune of La Bamba
Oh yeah thats the Rain Song by Led Zeppelin :)
no wonder we never have any songs to sing with the crap offerings on here for the last 150 posts or so....
Go ahead then Shane Galwayhoop McGowan, fill your boots be our saviour!
I do think if we win away from home we should sing to the tune of the Kaiser Chiefs Song.
"Oh my God I can't believe it we've never won away from home before"
I know the Leeds fans do sing it but I like a mix and match of 100 per cent Irish song but I would not be that precious that every song must be our own tune and lyrics.
Well we won in Denmark and we won in Holland, Robbie Keane scoring in both....oh s*** forgot they were friendlies:D
As regards a Leeds song, I dont give a monkeys who's song it is if it motivates the team, and thats why i wish we would start singing YNWA before during and after all games because love it or hate it it certainly gets behind the team
Or hopefully sing it for a few days between the Georgia and Montenegro matches. :)
You could just change it to:
"I could eat a Fry Up"
Still think this one is top!!

I'm very interested in getting a vocal croke park crowd. What do we need to do?
Burst these songs out before the game.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>When we play Italy at home, they should play you''ll never walk alone...I've never heard it before the game ever.
Does anyone know who to contact about what music is played at the games, and then people might catch on.
I think a nice pre-match song would be ''shipping out to boston'' by dropkick murphy's.
What about..... (to the tune of Karma Chameleon...)
Gio Gio Gio Gio Gio TrapAtoni...... from Italy...... from Italyyyyy....
