And nobody wants that. ;)

I see they are advertising for someone to run the club. Looks like they will be employed by FCC, thats interesting.

Anyone fancy running a football club
just been trying to find some info on the new club - and I came across this:
http://www.anfearrua.com/db.asp?a=to...lay&tid=431124
The GAA lot don't like the idea of this new club somewhat :D
I found that too and left a few comments, as you can see. They don't like 'outsiders'. Register and leave a few yourselves:D
Now now OldYouth.. you couldn't have used a bigger spoon :D
Very hard to make a comprehensive argument on their boards using words of less than 5 letters and ending every sentance with 'boy'. Anyway, I think they are fed up with me now. (But I'll be back!);)
I think you'll find they've no problem with outsiders. Plenty of soccer and rugby fans post on an fear rua. However you started talking about the grab all association in your very first post so what did you expect? Didn't really seem like you were that interested in discussing the issue the thread was about. As someone not in possession of the full facts at present I'll keep my own counsel, however it does seem at first glance that the Sporting Fingal concept is somewhat of a new departure for Irish soccer. If there is a precedent for a county council becoming involved with an individual sports club in this fashion I'd be very interested to hear about it.
I find it very hard to understand how some people on this forum imply -- or even suggest -- that GAA followers are narrow-minded and introverted when statements like that are dished out.
I'll probably be chastised now, but I sometimes find it ironic, to say the least, when people are falling over themselves to crassly generalise the GAA as 'bigots' without really understanding why.
Jinxy, if you read all the posts, I admitted on their forum to just taking the ****. Also, is there a posh part of Wexford?
Rocky 77, where did you get the notion of bigot? Look up the dictionary and point out examples in my posts
Does anybody know what day of the week SF will be playing because as far as I'm aware the floodlights in Morton Stadium are not up to ELOI standard.
Former UCD player Conan Byrne has signed for SF as a player and also as Sales and Marketing manager.
BTW colours are White (home) and Black (away) the sponssor is Keelings, the fruit and veg people I presume.
100% agree.
From an outsider's perspective it doesn't seem right that an artificially-created plastic club with a ludicrous name should be picked from the ether and given a place in the LOI.
Surely there are other clubs around the country with a bit of tradition and a bit of support that would bring more to the league?
Will the coaching and administration staff of Sporting Fingal be employed by the council?
Jinxy: what's your problem? Fingal are offering employment opportunities that the GAA can't match as they are an amateur body - unless the taxpayer throws a few bob their players' way.
Besides, organised football was a part of Irish sporting culture before the GAA was invented so the reality is that football is more 'Irish' than all GAA games.
Get used to it: football is the Irish sport, it's what the kids want to play, especially as we become a more multicultural society.
Besides, how many counties play hurling with any seriousness? And what about handball? If the GAA are serious about promoting gaelic games why are they letting their best two activities die a slow death? Hurling and handball are great games that are uniquely Irish yet they're allowed to wallow while gaelic football - which is a poor mix of rugby and football and has more to do with handbags outside the chipper on a Saturday night - gets promoted to the hilt.
:( What a frighteningly terrible and irrelevant post!
The issue is that a local council is embarking on a fantastical self-serving crusade. By all means build masses of facilities to encourage sport in the community, but why the need to start a senior club before all that is done, a stadium built, or public demand for it?
You'd think they'd know to put the horse before the cart out Fingal way. :D
It seems to me that the FAI could be playing a very intelligent game. If they have engaged with the local councils with the view to providing modern sports facilities for the public while promoting Eircom league clubs as anchor tenants using these facilities then I do not see very much wrong with it. The facilities at the Regional Sports Centre in Waterford will improve dramatically this year while the facilities being proposed in Tallaght, Fingal and Limerick all sound promising and have all been earmarked for use by Eircom league cubs.
Easy tiger! It's a legitimate question. If there's a legitimate answer by all means fill me in. No need to go off on a tangent about the GAA. Close your eyes and imagine another poster asked the question if it makes it easier for you. Would your response still start with the words "Whats your problem?"
Hey Reiteior, (or is that Retard) I don't know what your point is but I'll NEVER click on a SF link!
Reiteoir, why did you put up the Shin Fain link??
Because Sporting Fingal were reffered to as SF they have signed Steve Williams and a link to where it says they have signed him was asked for, Réiteoir was merely having a laugh...Maybe you should try reading the thread before replying??
Lads, I appreciate that our newest family member has the ititials SF and funnily enough my personal initials are SF but my question was, why the fcek was a lnk to the shinners put up as a reply to a post????
Anyone you quotes the shinners is a retard IN MY OPINION (and we are all entitled to our wn)
Your missing the point! It was meant as a joke! SF= Sporting Fingal, SF= Seinn Fein, IF you cant see the joke there then you are seriously too uptight. And calling him a retard over it was completley OTT.
Its not as if he was giving the link saying "support Sinn Fein" like..
Look at the post, was anything added other than the link to that 'organisation'.
Sorry if I don't see if there is an underlying joke but I hate those scum more than Man U. If I'm being over sensitive, I apologise.
C'mon Sporting Fingal and welcome to the league
I don't see whrere he quoted any Sinn Feiners anywhere?
Are you drunk?
Perhaps you are annoyed that he didnt post any link to your local branch :
http://www.sinnfeinwexford.com/ Perhaps you are a member?
:D
Can we have a bigger wink emoticon please?
One that's 6 foot tall should do the job.
