So where now for Dave Mooney?
Drogheda's Stephen Bradley to Dundee United
Darragh Ryan from Cork moving back up to Dublin
Philly Hughes to Kildare County rumour doing the rounds
Groin strains wreak havoc with all aspects of your life...:D
Nevermind, I'll answer it meself.
Over on our site, the most excellent authority has it that Gareth Cronin has been offered both the helm at Athlone, and a manager/coach role at Shels (under a D of F, presumably Keely?), both of which he will consider if we do not win the play-off.
Three reasons he'll probably take one of them if that happens:
One: he'll have more money
Two: much handier from home
Three: he'll be able to look people in the eye there! :D
And CTID, you're plainly not doing it right. :D
Sunday Mirror today saying Bristol City are set to make moves for both Dave Mooney of Longford and Brian Murphy of Bohemians
Read in the paper last Monday I think that Wolves, Charlton and Coventry are in for Mooney...
I don't think Mooney would be doing his career (as opposed to his bank balance) any favours by moving abroad at this stage. He'd be better off signing with a full-time team here. He needs to bulk up and stop missing easy chances before going abroad, as you don't get long to make a first impression in England. I reckon he'd be back here inside two years having played very few games.
Any truth in this ?

Given the accuracy of this part
who knows what truth is in it?Quote:
Palace are also believed to be interested in City's George O'Callaghan.
Rumours has it Philly Hughes has joined Shels.
Are you going all Droglike on me referring to Dundalk as 'Craptown' ?
Dave Warren to Cobr Ramblers.
gud luck dave and tanx for the terrific efforts this yr, true pro!!
Just making sure :p
I know nothing of this Sheils yoke. Fill me in!
Crack or craic? ;)
Give him 8 games, turns up late, Gill sacks him.
Maybe I'll keep it and use a Shels avatar, hence confusing everyone.
*uncrosses fingers*
Given your limited exposure to him do you think you should make a comment such as that on the man?
He's actually a very genuine guy; like many players he's a different person when he crosses the white line.
EDIT: though having read the rest of the posts I may have to revise my opinion of him if he has signed for Dundalk!
Sheilo is a true gentleman off the pitch. One helluva nice guy. I cried and begged him not to leave Mons when he did but having been at the club since he was 12 yrs old he felt it was time to experience life outside. Was living and working in Dublin so went to DC and when they went belly up moved to Rovers.
Was out injured alot of last season but think he is back to form. Am gutted he has gone to Dundalk but still will welcome him back to Mons with open arms (one of only 2 ex Mons who went to Dundalk who I will welcome) when he does come back in a season or 2.
Good luck Paul, you will need it! :p
By the way Dundalk fans and I have one particular in mind. I once won a soccer quiz by one answer cause I know that Stan was born in DROGHEDA! :D
he's had a terrific year down here, when others gave up, he kept goin, he got my vote for player of the year. he was only signing a contract wit us if we stayed in the premier, i'd luv if he stayed wit us,but i respect that decision, too gud a player for 1st division.
