I agree but I'll give him time. Keane is a good signing, competition for either wing-back role or the holding role in midfield.

alan keely rumoured to be leaving waterford to sign for daddy at Shels!!
I heard Robbie Clarke is leaving us for Shels. Great signing for them if it's true. He was one of our best players in DIv 1 last year.
What's up the whole Jason Byrne transfer stories to Pat's? E118,000 is the price in the papers. Must be rubbish?
tommy Barrett is coming back to Limerick!!
That's just mental. Shels are second bottom and 25 points off promotion - why don't they just write the rest of the season off, concentrate on saving their pennies to pay for next year's (or the year after's) rent at wherever they end up:confused:
If anything, increasing their wage bill could damage their chances of staying in Division 1. Even if they do finish in the bottom two, they would certainly be re-elected (if this still exists:confused:) if they showed the club was now being run responsibly.
We're only signing as many players as we're getting rid of and they're all loan/free transfers.
I see where you're coming from though.
Heard Sammy Morrow is signing for Derry as well from Hibs, hes been training with us for last 2 or 3 weeks and has agreed terms. Drogs and Linfield were also after him
Michael Keane is a very good signing. I remember Mary Harrington (think that’s her name) raving about him in her Planet Football column in Mondays Irish times. When he was at Preston he was a top man, I think he may have slipped back the list a little since though?
Ah now, she's up to speed on schools hockey for girls which gets as much coverage as our league when its on:eek:
Keane's another one of those highly rated youngsters that end up doing nothing. Hate Rogers so am probably too subjective to say what he's actually like as a footballer. Don't know anything about the Scottish lad
If O'Neill's out for at least 8 weeks (possibly the season) we desparately need a striker (we did anyway!)
PS hannigan is a ****
I agree with Dodge on both counts, I can see Michael Keane being another Michael Foley-Foley-Sheridan, a poster boy for the national team geeks and journos who then gets found out in the eL. And I doubt Mary Hannigan has ever been to a football match.
Rogers is as solid a defender as you'll find in the eL, much of his reputation as a braindead hatchet-man is based on his appearance and background to be honest. The sad fact is that he's probably technically superior to 80% of eL defenders.
I see Sligo released Choice Aisien, is there a reason for this? I thought Celtic were looking at him and all before he moved to Sligo?
Any decent youngish defenders who have a bit of pace been released recently?
It's a sad, sad day when a blatantly Shels-baiting comment (a comment about their impending re-election no less!) provokes nothing but agreement from Shels fans. :(
No, wait...not "sad", what's the word I'm looking for... oh yeah "HILARIOUS" :D
Sorry. :o
Oh shut up, you were showing genuine concern :D
Wednesdays local paper says that we wont be signing any new players at the moment due to the amount of injurys we have and cant release any due to this. The club run a tight budget down here
But then again rumours circulating that the manager resigned today so all that might change.

Are those permanent signings bellavistaman?
Not sure about the cork city lads, i thought they were but from what the city website says sounds more of a loan really, ill try find out.
Dundalk`s new signing Robbie Doyle got off to a flyer last night, a clinical finish on his debut, looked decent enough and pretty fit too.
Have a soft spot for Doyle. came into Pats when we were at our lowest ebb and did a fine job. Never lacked effort
100% impression of a headless chicken he does. Probably good enough for the first division as he's prone to the odd moment of brilliance
Two signings for us: Barker, big striker from Blackburn. First name Ronnie. Masic, midfielder from Czech Republic, hasn't played outside there. First name Magic. Spelling of surname almost certainly wrong. Both were in Waterford last night.
