Nah I am heading to Bratislava on the Thursday afternoon at 16.30.
Anyone book an apartment with www.pragueexperience.com ? we're looking at one near Wenceslas Square....is this central?
yeah its the main square as central as you can get.
Sound....bit expensive (€40 each) but might go for it so....cheers!
flying to vienna on the wednesday before the match with aer lingus, overnighting there and doing the catamaran on thursday afternoon, imagine the looks from the natives when a rake of paddies show up locked off a boat in the centre of bratislava!!!
yes staying in Vienna Thursday going to Bratislava on the Friday then Prague on the sunday
We get to Vienna on thurs from aerlingus flight then getting private car for free to Bratislava as they ****ed up with our accomodation so giving us free tfer to accom ! Though the new apatment they booked us does have a pool table !
i am in the process of booking an apartment for 3 nights (mon-thurs) for this trip.
for 4 of us, its working out at approx. €400. is that a reasonable rate for prague or should i be looking further?
I posted this on the Slovakia thread as well but it's also relevant here.
For anyone travelling by train from Bratislava to Prague we booked our train earlier this week on http://www.bahn.co.uk/db_uk/view/index.shtml
This was the only site I could find, with English text, that I could make our booking on at this time (tickets already delivered). We decided to splash out and get 1st class seats as I'd say there will be a lot of people travelling that route on the Sunday and Monday and I don't fancy standing, hungover, on a cramped train for 4 hours. At least this way we're guaranteed seats and a little bit of room. It came to €60 each but we got the rest of the trip cheap enough so we're happy with that. As far as I know the economy seats are about €40 with this lot. If you wait to get the tickets at the train station in Bratislava I'd say you'd get them cheaper again as I presume the company I booked ours with are adding on some kind of a premium. I just wanted to get ours sorted before going over as it's less hassle. We're travelling on the 12:25pm on Monday the 10th of September.
I forgot to mention that you can't book these tickets over the internet as the website only allows you to book tickets for journeys within Germany. You'll have to either email them or give them a ring. The staff are very helpful though.
Thanks for that. I'm thinking about doing the same and booking a ticket for the Monday as i'd be worried about getting a place on the train with the amout of fans making the journey. I've just done a quick search on google and apparently the journey should cost around €20 (about £15 in real money ) but like you say, i think its worth paying that bit extra to get it all sorted beforehand.
Booked match ticket (home end) and 2 nights hotel in Prague for 98 yo yos www.activitybreaks.com same crowd as for Slovakia game
Well, it's €195 pp nowQuote:
98 yo yos
do you know if any tickets are around as i have no word from the fai
I had got a cheap flight out for Slovakia ages ago. Only booking return back after Czech game. Flying back on Thursday afternoon from Prague with http://www.jet2.com/ for €100 to Leeds and onto to Dublin with slime-air for £17.
Accomodation booked Ibis Praha Wenceslas Square, Prague for the 11th and 12th. €78 for twin room including breakfast.
Got my slovakia Tickets but no word yet on czech game yet any block bookers get any word yet.
Got my PFO letter from the FAI today - sorry, no tickets for Czech game, they've all gone to the blazers and our travel agents etc etc (but don't forget to renew your block booking, because we need your money)
Yeah I got the PFO response today. Lets hoping we can secure tickets over there.
Just been on to FAI and been informed that letters issued yesterday to BBs. I am away for a couple of weeks and could not trust that the post would have arrived before departure. The ticket office told me that I had not been successful in the BB draw for the tickets :(
Plans B, C,.........Z now being put in place to secure a ticket with my faith being put in the waiting list thread :)
I know someone would have posted here if they had found it but, has anybody found out how to get tickets for the home end?
there must be someone who has a Czech friend?:eek:
I have a Czech supplier, who was trying to obtain tickets ( Home-End ) for me...apparently there is only ONE ticketing agent selling tickets, and the Czechs have to apply ONE per person. My guy said it looks likely to be oversubscribed and it will then be down to the luck of the draw.
Unfortunately, I had an argument with him this week ( over a business deal )so I've probably fecked up my chances there!:(
It does not look good for tickets so should we start to develop 'plan b'. I take it it will be on tv, so what are the chances of the old Czech FA getting a large screen up somewhere. Chances are there will be over 3000 of us without tickets. Just think, it could be like Friday night in Stuttgart last year.
Not the same as being at the match but i would take it as next best. What a blast!!
The Czechs had 2,000 empty seats for Germany. I find it hard to believe they'll be oversubscrbed. I can believe they'll try and screw us on the black market though.
I reckon that's correct, there'll be black market ones alright. I don't see any on ebay but they musn't be issued yet.
I emailed a guy I know in Czech to see could he get any and he said they're hard to come by, he had been trying for himself to no avail. I'm not sure how they get distributed there.
it just seems suss witht the czech tickets..for such poor capacities, even against the germans, there are no tickets floating about, we are deffo goin to get screwed on the black market..
seems well dodge..
I got confirmation of my two tickets for the Czech game from the FAI today, result!
Can any of the successful applicants for this game tell me the cost of a ticket?
