i was under the impression that the club put a few thousand seats in about three years ago must have imagined going to games when there was only terracing on the connaught st side and I could of sworn i used to stand in the shed as for that big wooden firetrap that used to be were the jodi is well I must have dreamt that
as for the plans to cover the connaght st side yeah spend big money to put a roof on and then sell it to developers great bit of buisness that ..............you're not part of the old rovers board by any chance;)
100% agree DVB (theres a first :D ). I think dalymount is delapidated. Ok the jodi isnt bad but the rest is chronic. Sure most of the time it is a one sided ground anyway. And to think a couple of years ago some bohs fans tried to convience me it was the best staduim in the country.Quote:

Part of the Shopping Centre end was sold in the 90’s to allow the club to redevelop the old Main Stand, and a planning application is currently under review for a major redevelopment of the Phibsboro Shopping Centre, which will include a new stand behind that goal with Corporate facilities and seats for up to as many as 1500 spectators.
Your Heritage, Your Future!
Bohs have their problems and their debts but I wouldn't swap positions with Rovers any day of the week.
The fact of the matter is that Dalymount still belongs to Bohemians and generates massive amounts of money (in EL terms) for Bohemians. Far more money in fact than your shiney municipal stadium will on your 40 designated days a year.
Plus Bohs only really have made one land sale of significance in 1998. It is true that there was a second land sale but, the area of land was about the size of the box-room in somebodies house that Rovers are currently being run out of.
Bohemians can pay their debts if they want - we just have to face up to the kind of shriveled-up existance that Rovers are going to have to go through for the next 5-10 years. Except that Bohs wouldn't have to wait as long to get through the tough times, 3-5 years I'd say.
Looking at it from a business point of view I would have to back Bohemians to survive their current problems more than I would Rovers to survive theirs. Bohemians have assets that are worth something in the real world but Rovers at the moment only have their pretty worthless (except to them) brand name. I know Rovers fans want to deflect attention away from the rather catastophic "relegation and move to Santry" scenario and it's good to keep your spirits up but don't expect the rest of us to believe the bluster.
You're on.Quote:

As for our "40 designated days a year" That's match days, how many match days do Bohs have a year? We'll also have a clubhouse with a bar and more facilities (that we actually own) on site than Bohs have. Not forgetting the 50/50 revenue split with the council.
So yes, you're on. I'll bet that we'll be on our way up as you're on your way down. And I'm fairly sure of it. Not a penny gets spent irresponsibly at Rovers these days.
KOH
How do you define irresponsiblyQuote:

only a lunatic would suggest that the current Rovers squad will win promotion next year. you will have to spend a fair few quid to get out of that division FACT
Slag off the 'municipal' stadium all you like, but not every club in the league was lucky enough to have the government pay 99% of the cost to buy their stadium like BohsQuote:

Without meaning to cause offence, will the 50/50 revenue split with the SDCC not mean Rovers will have to half the money gate receipts, programme sales, merchendise e.t.c?
If the council organise an event in the ground will half of that go to Rovers?
The correct answer is B. It only covers advertising revenue. Gate receipts etc from Council run events will be the Council's and vice versa.Quote:

Not really, most of it was revenue debt on hyped wages, and its fairly obvious that we have paid the penalty on the pitch for that.
Off the pitch the revenue got a top end 5 figure sum in settlement which they would not otherwise have recieved and continued monthly payments since.
Doesn't really matter how Rovers got their tax clearance cert but the cold hard fact is that they have it and other clubs will struggle to do so. This is something that will be held over clubs for progressing into whatever league structures are put in place by our all-powerful governing body. Shels' relationship with Merrion Sq and their willingness to relocate should see them through but Pat's and Bohs are on very shakey ground. Not sure where it leaves UCD and DCFC.
To be honest Philo, from what I'm hearing Bohs have a much better chance than Shels of being fully tax compliant. Obviously Merrion Sq will change the goalposts for Ollie in such a scenario.
KOH
That probably doesn't say much though!Quote:

Like I said, Shels are more willing to go along with the FAI than either Pat's or Bohs and Ollie's relationship with Delaney both personally and through business will only help them. Bohs are making progress at an obvious cost to facilties but the O'Byrne presence at Pat's can't be popular in Merrion Square.
Is it possible to change the goalposts any more after Rover just wrote off all their debt and carried on playing as if nothing was any different!!!! :mad:Quote:

unbelievable what some people want to believe
Since Rovers was taken over by the fans the club has been 100% tax-compliant, paid all its debts and is a beacon of financial rectitude. We also lost around €500,000 through the examinership, making us the second-biggest loers in the write-off.
If you want to cast aspersions, point them at the previous board rather than at the fans-owned SRFC. We've suffered too.
Great post, i cant seem to understand why other people from a certain club seem to be saying the whole time that all the crap that went on at SRFC was done while the 400 club was in control of the club.
The same applied down here till Martin Colbert took over the running of the club when all the other RATS left a club to die and Martin had the courage to keep it running when all the other knockers were just sitting on the fence waiting to see it crumble.
The same applies to the lads in the 400 club at SRFC, i personally think they done a magnificent job and fair play to them for doing what they done and i hope that their efforts will be rewarded with rovers back up in the premiere club.
I would love to see other clubs if the same thing happened to them, would they have the balls (sic) to do what they done, i know the gypo's will come on and gloat over it but what goes around comes around .
Then they have the cheek to give out to SRFC about the behaviour of their fans and to be honest i think the scummiest fans follow Boaz.
Speak up it's hard to hear you all the way from the first division.. :rolleyes:Quote:
