Hah, yes, you are right. A very unfair misreading on my part, my apologies. Both his predictions were quite good actually.

Good attendances. Problem now is that the rate of growth cannot be sustained due to restrictions in capacity. Need government investment in the grounds.
What was the away attendance in Tallaght in the end?
It was hard to tell when we were in the crowd how big it was but it definitely seemed bigger than I had expected. That’s a decent turnout for us considering the negativity around the club and the general feeling that this game was a foregone conclusion. Add to the fact that it was on RTE.
Fantastic support by Dundalk, we'll bring around 40 to Oriel on Friday! Our away support has always been terrible
Last season Shamrock Rover passed 100k at league games, other than Cork not possible for anyone else yet to do that as capacities below 6k.
i think Rovers might hit 130k for league games this year - say average of 9k for 6 Dublin derbies, 6 games at 7k and 6 games at 6k. With Pats likely second in Prem attendaces of 85-90k, bit of a chasm opening up in income from gate receipts and match nights.
Galway , cork and rovers would be paying rent on their grounds. Galway invested in the development in Edp
Tolka Park and Richmond Park sold out on Friday….
Maybe I'll run for mayor .
"Make Athacliadh great again or MAGA
377 at UCD Bray
Super performance by Waterford, 4 1 up in Drogheda, 2059 at it.
3,122 at Oriel Park for Dundalk v Galway.
2010 in Finn Park, 5013 at Richmond
520 in Kerry
377 in UCD
400-500 at Cobh game, apparently.
The 520 in kerry is disappointing compared to last seasons kick off
4317 in the showgrounds. Bar the last 2 games of the league winning season biggest crowd we’ve had there for a league game in a long long time.
The 4,317 attendance in Showgrounds is the highest attendance figure there since the end of the league winning 2012 season, when 5,621 were there for the Oct 13th game against St Pats, and then 6,097 against Shamrock Rovers on 26th Oct.
Sligo had an attendance of 4,248 for the opening game of the 2023 season.
You have to go back to 2013 for the previous time they broke 4,000 at a game, with 4,256 in attendance for a 3-0 win over Derry City on 6th May.
Think we give 500 tickets
Great opening crowds by all clubs, Drogs only came bottom as their capacity is 2,100 or so, we were next at 3,122, but quite low away support so prob just about 3k home fans.
If 3,122 is the second lowest its not a bad base, I think Linfield in Irish League with the highest crowds get just over 3k most weeks.
About 350 at TC for Cobh's, home/away game. Maybe 10/12 Athlone fans, while there was over 100 that travelled up from Cobh Town by bus. While it was a great comeback for the 3-3 result the weather was poor and the heavy rain was terrible.
If this game was in St. Colmans there would have been at least 1,000 in attendance.
