Which random Irishman will Andrews blame for this?
Kenny's successor is going to have a mountain to climb for the 2026 campaign.

Absolute sh!te. Ogbene decent but also lost the ball needlessly twice. This was the wrong adjustment by Kenny at the wrong time. GTF.
i'm not sure if i can remember a worse performance? the last days of the o'neill regime had some stinkers alright.
Awful corner, 3 or 4 passes and well thats the sort of clinical efficiency that we squander - hesitate, cut back and let opposition reset. Be interesting to hear what Didi has to say (apart from give it to Ogbene) could be a bit throw back to Dunphy like analysis.
I really don't think he is plying well. Massive mistakes for both goals, no composure when he has had the chance to put in a decent ball, no link up with ferguson and lots of head down running into dead ends getting a few free kicks. No where close to international level attacker. That body position he got himself into when scales put in that great cross is just horrible . Great pace great athlete and needs to work on his defensive abilities and needs a wing back
Ogbene is being Ogbene. A live wire and our best player tonight, but also inconsistent to the point I still can't tell if he's any good or not
Scales having a decent game too. Super cross shortly before their second that a stronger forward than ogbene would have muscled his way to.
Knight looks a bit off the pace. Everyone else just looks poor without any particular reason. Bazunu's handling not great either.
Greece still in with a chance of automatic qualification. And fair dues to them; they've got our number twice with ease
It's a low bar at the minute liamo. He's a 5/6 out of ten in a team of 3s.
Just more of the same. Complete ineptitude. Appalling.
I'll never understand why Kenny was received such an easy ride from the press. It's not like O'Neill had a team of prime all-stars to pick from, and yet, despite the results he was able to achieve, he received so much more criticism, and even hostility at times.
Obviously the quite inexplicable cult-like support Kenny received from a certain cadre of the support didn't help, though they will never accept their share of the responsibility for this mess. The press has been extraordinarily supine and even obsequious in the face of this over the past few years, refusing to hold their man to account. A complete dereliction of duty, really.
The interview at full time is going to be painful to watch. Christ I’m dreading it already.
True. Horrible to see that idiotic management on the sideline shouting to get the ball out yo ogbene like it's an under q2s game with the dads coaching. How about trying to actually move the ball into areas where you will make chances rather than giving it to the fast lad who hopefully will run nowhere get fouked and get a free kick.
Jason Knight and Alan Browne. 54 caps betwen them. Is anyone able to articulate what either of them is supposed to be good at? Because i've watched the vast majority of those games and I honestly have no idea.
Is it u12s coaching or is it League of Ireland coaching?
Collins was awful for the second goal. Subbed for Manning. Wonder was he injured or is he under the bus?
Greeks sitting back and letting us pass the ball around, then surrounding a player who gets a poor pass, intercept the ball and slice us open on the counter.
Was happening all the time and nothing done about it.
get knight off for god's sake.
Couldn't watch the first half. Switched on to see Doherty, Duffy, Scales and Manning as our back 4. Had a good old chuckle. And I like two of them.
You could sub about 8 of them tbf, take your pick….
Doherty should be shot.
Theres isnt a single remotely decent midfielder eligible for Ireland it seems, or am I forgetting someone who hasn't played for Ireland yet,cos the one's who have are woejus.
Ronnie Whelens laugh when asked just before half time what should Kenny do/consider for half time … unprofessional or understandable … aside it’s time (has been for a time) to write this project off and reset with a new management team.
At least we've lanced the boil. It's a shame a decent man like Stephen Kenny had to be humiliated like this to prove the point, but the argument advanced by John Giles among others under Mick and Martin O'Neill that we should be trying to dominate the midfield and playing good football has been proven comprehensively wrong by this whole experiment.
We need to get back to what we do best. We need to re-adopt the Charltonism, red in tooth and claw. At the minute we're a nice side to play against. That's the last thing you should be able to say about the Irish team.
We are absolutely clueless. So slow, players look like they've never trained together before and have no idea where anybody will be.
An incoherent mess. It's truly awful to watch.
Roughly here, skipped bargaining.Quote:
denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance
Our absolute nadir. The worst we've been in our lifetime. I never thought we'd see greater incompetency than we saw under Staunton. Incredibly Kenny has further lowered even that ground-scrapping bar.
What does Josh Cullen do?
Honestly.. he adds nothing
Show me a successful international team out there in 2023 playing Charlton hoofball.
Just because Stephen Kenny is clueless it doesn't mean that we have to go back to the 1980s.
Take Ferguson off. He's been struggling for fitness and deserves better than this s**tshow.
Show me any team out there playing Charlton hoofball.
That's the point in many ways. Do modern defenders have any idea how to defend against it?
What's absolutely certain is that this doesn't work.
Edit: And FWIW, Charltonism was much more than long balls. It was an aggressive abrasive approach to everything we did. It was team spirit fostered over a few pints rather than spending the evenings sitting in video sessions being told Georgi Hagi wasn't half bad. It was players putting their body on the line for the cause. We really did inflict our game on the opposition, in every way.
It was everything we lack.
Mick McCarthy’s second era not looking so bad now is it?
Steaming pile of sh!t.
