One of those goals that look simple enough but he knew exactly where to go, and made sure he put space between himself and the defenders. Decisive finish. Nice to see him score early in the campaign.

I've said it before about Idah - given a bit of time and some chances at any level he's gone to and He. Just. Scores.
I went to Stearman’s wiki to look that up and looks like someone has entered this on his bio — lovely.
“He is very popular amongst Norwich City fans due to his extremely generous "defending" each time he faces the club.”
Interesting FAI pursued him to point of him getting passport and never got a call up. That said, centre half usually the last position we’re in need of bolstering.
Not great to be hearing about a young lad:
"Adam will be a bit in the spotlight and I'm delighted for him," he said.
"I'm allowed to tell you a secret, I had a proper outburst with Adam Idah during this week because I didn't have the feeling he was focused on us.
Not focused on Norwich it suggests, so what or which club shifted his focus ? Or maybe he was reliving his international bow a bit too much. Or maybe a coke n hookers binge, could be anything couldn't it ?

Bit of context in the full story. Seems to suggest he was just a bit distracted after being away on international duty. Probably just a young lad who was still had his head in the clouds after achieving such a massive ambition at a very young age.
Suggestions yes, nothing concrete, a young lad getting carried away with himself its a bit premature, even stranger that his manager has to come out to the media and mention it.
Anyway, he lives and he learns. Onwards and upwards
Au Contraire, his manager coming out publicly about it could well be a bit of a kick up the hole to Idah.
True, thats another way of looking at it, but you'd think the start of a new footballing week he wouldnt need to bring it up again - which is what he has done.
Sounds like Idah impressed with his contribution off the bench. A lot of fans calling for his inclusion next week citing his obvious physicality, but also his hunger and adaptability, which is encouraging.

That makes for great reading in many ways but I see the point highlighted over and over that their formation only permits on centre forward. A real pity. He definitely can play wide forward from what I've seen of him but they have options there too.
Hopefully I'm not being paranoid but Farke does seem to love reining Adam in. I mean, as well games he gave a frankly rubbish Drmic at the end of last season, he went and signed Jordan Hugill this season- so he has three centre forwards.
Idah starting with Hugill today as Norwich rest Pukki away to Rotherham. Big opportunity.
Played off the left in Norwich's familiar 4-2-3-1. Seemed to do okay going by press reports.
Gave away a penalty which was missed, clumsy more than anything.
Idah drops back down to the bench for tonight. I was hoping he would hit the ground running in the Championship this year but Norwich have kept most of their attackers from last season. I think if he is going to develop into a top class striker Id like to see him as 1st name on teamsheet by end of season
Hes got speed and strength, the jurys out whether he has the other side to his game, but he definitely improved from the u19 to the u21s (his touch got much better)so hopefully he can again improve.
1st name on the teamsheet is a bit much, given some of the players at Norwich, but I'd like to see him starting, and by starting that would mean he is holding his own, so you'd consider 10 goals from the season to be a fair return. I'd take that now with both hands but i dont think hes the answer to what we desperately need from what i have seen of him.
Fair enough 1st name on team sheet might be a lot but I'd like to see him be picked regularly. If u are in the team as young as he is the hope is that you develop into a top class player. Pukki is still better than him right now. 10 goals would be a good target
He got an assist tonight. Didn’t know much about it, but he cut inside nicely and Vrancic took it off his toe before he could shoot.
Still a teenager, let's not forget. He's a bit unpolished, but most the raw essentials are there.
Yes, should be back late January. Collateral knee ligament sprain (which I assume it is reading between the lines) caused by burn out, I bow to your superior medical knowledge Bielsa, just wish you’d impart this knowledge on YBIG please
Irrelevant posts moved to rubbish
Good to see him get half an hour yesterday after a couple of minute cameos in his last two games. Already 2-0 down by the time of his introduction and got a yellow for his troubles, so at least showed willing by the looks of it.
Norwich haven’t scored in four games, so will hopefully get a bit of game time moving forward.
Tap in goal today after keeper spilled an effort from a corner. Good timing ahead of qualifiers! Hopefully he can get more game time in the coming weeks
2 goals in 15 appearances seems underwhelming at first glance, but Idah has only played 283 minutes of league football this season, so really it's like 2 goals in 3 - I don't know why Farke doesn't give him better opportunities
Idah is a victim of the current trend of only playing one striker/centre forward— he’ll never be ahead of Pukki. It’s a good point you raise.
This and the other issue is that he is very young to be that only centre forward. Very few centre forwards his age playing regularly. I make this point all the time but it's even more apparent when Pukki is going well. Pukki hit double digits in league goals once in the Finnish league when he was 21. The only time he achieved that in his career up until he got going at 26/27 in the Danish league and he has been consistently getting over 10 each season since.
Norwich are top of the Championship, and could secure promotion in the next few weeks, so whatever they're doing at the moment (I haven't seen much Championship football this season) it's clearly working
Unfortunately for us, right now that includes using Idah as a substitute
Idah has also had a couple of injuries I think. Has probably dramatically reduced his playing time
Yeah, I know that Idah's season has been affected by injury, Farke's one-striker formation and Pukki's form, but it's frustrating checking the results and seeing that Idah has come on after the 85-minute mark yet again - I mean, surely he merits at least 10-15 minutes on a regular basis
I feel like he needs a loan for a prolonged period of games. I think of another out and out 9 like Tammy Abraham and the benefit that he got out of 3 loans to sides that were willing to make him their centre forward and play him every week. Harry Kane is another example from the years. I don't think Idah is likely to be comfortable or effective as a wide forward, and Norwich have a lot of options there, so he can't accumulate minutes and experience in those areas like young centre forwards have at other clubs e.g. Mason Greenwood. Calvert-Lewin.
From an Ireland perspective, we are obviously very keen for Idah to develop as soon as possible. I think he has the chance to be our centre forward for a long time and fits into Kenny's style ideally. That's probably leading to a little impatience on my side in terms of his development. I often forget how young he is. He turned 20 a couple of weeks ago. As much as I wish he went out on loan or a loan was planned after his recovery for the second half of the season, Norwich is probably a good place to be until the end of the season. Unless Pukki picks up an injury and Idah takes his place and thrives, there will have to be some very important discussions regarding his development this summer.
Norwich are certs to go up so I suspect they will sign a striker in the summer and send Idah out on loan to the Championship. Might be best for all parties.
Goal today https://twitter.com/norwich_goals/st...246884865?s=21 after an overall disappointing season. Big preseason ahead!
Decent finish.
Needs to be less patient next season - ask for more game-time or a loan move - dealing with scraps of garbage time and still scoring - when you add up his playing time, he's scored six goals in about eight games in his senior career (and that includes a full game against man United when the ball barely entered his half of the pitch)
