So far nothing, unless massive publicity for the club, sold out first run and preorders for more than the club can supply is your idea of 'going wrong' :rolleyes: brilliant promotional idea that has delivered on every front for the club - 'equally retarded' to the double contract debacle ? Perhaps people in the LOI are so used to bad news that when something good or innovative comes along people immediately look for the (possible) down side.Or maybe the LOI fraternity are just a bunch of whingey old gits :cool:

surprised to see oneills back in the league of ireland market again.. when did they last make a jersey? I know we only had them for one season when we got to fai cup final in 2001.

They still have had a presence aside from UCD. Derry City 2009, Kildare County 2009, Sporting Fingal 2010, Athlone Town 2010, Mervue United 2013, Wexford Youths 2015

As for obsessed, tee hee:D. I don't even mind Bohs that much to be honest. You'll be relieved to know that they come a long way behind Shels (Ollie Byrne, never forgotten) and Rovers for me, and I suspect for most Pats supporters.

To be clear the "equally retarded" bit was clearly a reference to selling part of Dalymount Park twice. Anyone who bothers to actually read the thread would see that. :struggle:

Just before we all 'move along' please point out how this refers in any shape or form to the sale of Dalymount ? Quite clearly refers to the new away jersey and nothing else.

I dont know why anyone would pour scorn on this, certainly in terms of raising profile for Bohs - it has done as was hoped and some. Of course people were going to ask about image rights simply as across the league as we are not renowned for covering all bases and things not backfiring but once there was explination of things being covered then thats it. Great job Bohs for turning such a tenuous connection to a muic icon in to one of if not the best publicity stunts in modern league history.

I still reckon O'Neills are running in circles wondering how they will cope with the large demand, if they have it in hand orders might be met some time in 2119....

Don't think anyone could have predicted the level of publicity this got. Kit manufacturers usually plan 'runs' (batches) and O'Neills cover a large range of products (including making jerseys for other companies) so it may be difficult to run off more, especially this side of Christmas (obviously the biggest market for all jerseys). I know the club have been in contact with them so hopefully a second 'run' (at least) will be forthcoming.

irrespective of sales, it has been a PR goldmine for the club in the publicity generated.

....wait until they see the Johnny Logan 'Home' shirt :cool:

I doubt it - it was presale. Suggesting that it hadn't gone into production. Probably only a few prototypes around.

What's interesting is that the website says that if you bought the Marley jersey, you'll get sent the new design, unless you ask for a cancellation.

Are they going to contact people individually as well, or is it going to be the case that if you don't see the bit on twitter/the website, you'll not know to cancel, and you'll suddenly find yourself with a fist jersey?

Thought that as well when I read it. Suspect there'll be a few in the 45 countries mentioned that might not here about the redesign. Then again they might hear about it through the same mediums where they heard about the Marley design in the first place.

Would imagine they'll also send off a bulk email to everyone who's purchased it with the options.

That's exactly what I was wondering too.

Unless people ask for a refund...and how will they know to ask for one?

A friend in London ordered one, and got an email from the club asking if he wants a refund.
