Not sure about it being rewritten as Vindaloo, weren't they both for France '98? AFAIK it's based on "My Darling Clementine", only speeded up a bit. yes glap that's the one. I know the fench (only when they win mind! and win well) play the last 2 mins of this song to get their crowd going - and it works as far as atmosphere's concernded.

Don't think it should be used as the entrance theme, just don't think its suited.. would be class to play it after every time we score..

"definetly not an entrance theme, but yeah you're right - play the most suitable bit of the song after we score - but more appropriately straight after a win - fcuking hell I wish one of us had the job of the music guy at Ireland matches instead of some lame dumbass

Not the entrance theme, but one of the main warm ups. I'll never forget Amsterdam when they played it about 15 mins before kick-off. The whole crowd was hopping. Obviously it helps to have an ultra modern stadium with a fantastic sound system but even still it was great. That said, I'd had about 8 pints and quite a bit of Amsterdam's finest and by and large life was just wonderful :)

WTSHNN for the intro still for me.

I honestly don't think we need music for when we score.

speaking of Holland - the organisers who play the music at Lansdowne always fail to miss an opportunity. With 10,000 Dutch supporters and 30,000+ Irish supporters at the Jason McAteer game in 2001 it was the perect scenario for "The Red Rose Cafe" to be played. This song is well known in both countries. No imagination :rolleyes:

They should really take it on board. A big part of the success/failure of the FAI is down to how the paying customers feel. They should open their eyes and keep the customers satisfied.

Waterford United tried out WTSHNN before kick off on Friday night - didnt get past the intro though as a minute silence was called :( - it was just building up nicely and all!!

Forgot to mention this before but the FAI did commission a special piece of music at the time of their re branding.

It was written and performed by Dervish and would be perfect. (It may take time to get used to).

I must dig it out, upload it and post the url.

You can't have fcuking U2 playing when a team walks onto the pitch you want some sort of an instrumental the crowd can sing to, that Dario G one, or the "Champions league, you're having a laugh," sorry "Rebal Army," chant, te tune to that!
