Morrissey, hall, whitehead, coleman....bench filling up nicely
Stephen Folan was offered a deal today.
And he laughed down the phone.
Now obviously I'm not one for exaggeration.
But when that one legged, mincing, prom queen of a centre half is laughing at an offer it's absolutely time for the board to resign en masse burn the Markets Field to the ground fold up the tent and start in the first division again in a couple of years.
We're into Danny Drew with Tommy Lynch as his assistant territory here.
McDonald better have players. And he better have them locked in a room where our chairman can't get at them.
Considering the “board” consists of 2 people, resigning would take all of two seconds and all it would do is leave us with no owner and no one running the club.
If Folan genuinely laughed at an offer from us he should have been laughed back at. He was just relegated with Galway and could barely get a game with Sligo or Cork previous to that.
I'm well aware of how quickly the board could resign.
I'm saying close the club. 100%.
Shut her down.
All the money to get to a point where the clowns are laughing at YOU.
Take it down from the mast.
Roll it up in a carpet and throw it off a bridge.
Put a fork in it. It's done.
We're into John Healy coming on upfront up in Mel's Park territory here.
Another fella we were talking to has turned us down to sign for Sligo too.
There's torture museums in every stag hole in Europe. The world will do without another one.
We're into sweat mcgauley territory here.
The darkest day in the history of football in our fair city.
At the moment I’m not sure because it is hard to know who is available. I’d be hoping the club are talking to more than one defender though. John Caufiled himself said recently that wages are already starting to get out of hand. Maybe some players are looking for way more than they are worth?
We can only really judge our signings by what we have when pre-season starts in January. If we have a load of rubbish then the club will have to stand by their decisions. As it stands we have to let the club just do their business because I honestly think what fans say or think about the policy when it comes to signings means absolutely zero to Pat O Sullivan and Neil McDonald.
I’ve heard Lynch is in talks with Sligo in regards a move next year.
There’s one thing players are doing this year and that’s playing clubs off each other on order to get the best possible deal. Sheppard done it with Cork, Bolger with Rovers. I would imagine Hery is doing the same now considering the interest in him.
Hery signed for Waterford today
absolute joke of a club
Absolutely sickened with the club letting Hery go, the one player I really wanted us to keep, now if we can just get rid of Ogbenie , maybe he has a clause in his contract....
Not being a good week .. Cue the club rolling out our North Korean sports correspondent AOB to "explain" how this is part of the revolutionary process. Again, sends out a poor signal to would be signings ..
Hery going is probably the worst individual loss the club could have from the existing squad.
McDonald better have a core of UK players together.
Losing a player you want to waterford is an absolute embarrassment for Pat O Sullivan. No more listening to his cretinous mooing about wanting Limerick to be a big club.
If they pull the Russell shuffle again this off season Pat needs to **** off to be honest. It's just a monumental waste of everyone's time and money at this stage.
Again: Unless McDonald is signing a squad in uk.
When we didn't get McNamee it was because he went to the Champions and we can't really compete with the top 3 or 4 teams. All the more reason to F U C K I N G ensure you hang on to the 1 or 2 top class players we have. I'm now really excited because if we can afford to get rid of Bastian then the 3 or 4 better midfielders we will be signing should have us ****ing the league. Champions League here we come
Where he is our captain where is our top scorer where are the rest of the lads we wanted to keep. Lost out on Dave Cawley to Sligo too.
Am I right in saying that so far it's Crowe, O'Flynn, Kenny and Hery out and Coleman, Morrissey in?
If we could even resign a few players it'd be a start.
Shane Duggan re-signed.
Ogbene on trial in the UK.
Believe it or not, it's Chelsea. Already played in an U 23 match for them.
agree with this, it's a disaster. Had really come good. However the lower reaches in England are full of Herys, let's hope our manager is coming home with a few.
Presume we lost him over money, a case that we scrimped or Waterford throwing money at the league this season?
Don't think it's time to panic yet though - theres only about 3 clubs that could actually field a team at the moment.
dont think pats, bray, bohs or Derry have done any significant new business yet?
my concern would be that the gap is widening - cork, Dundalk and rovers all moving to 52 week contracts, that's going to trump anything the rest of us can offer
Ah stop, Cawley is bang average. No addition to any serious squad
Duggy signing up again is the first bit of really positive news took a lot of unnecessary stick on top of the bit he deserved.
Hery gone to a better ground and more money, can't blame the kid. Huge loss.
Very true, only thing we can hope for is a good financial deal to hopefully reinvest in the squad.
Looking at the Premier licensing criteria and given our corporate and board structure, it's fantasy and farcical that we even get a sniff of a license. If they ever have a look under the bonnet of our application and define the roles and responsibilities to those named individuals in the submission, we'll be getting the roadTBH.
No way. Do tell. Is Ogbenne on a kitman's contract too? And is David O'Connor the tea lady? I for one am shocked.
