Isn't there rules anyway about who many players can play in both squads?

An egm has been called by members. Thursday night.
Will there be a team for Athlone's game on Friday?
Will there be an Athlone club on Friday
If Athlone have no manager and most if not all the players have left, what are the odds of them being able to field on Friday night?
Can amateur players be signed before July? Apparently the club are trying to sign up locals without success. https://t.co/KjCMql4Xp4
From the outside looming in the situation appears dire.
Wonder what kind of a squad they're going to be able to throw together at all. And who's in charge?
Mix of u17s and u19s by the looks of things. Can't imagine the FAI will be overly sympathetic as regards registering any new players if they can't or won't pay their old players. Who are they playing on Friday? Will they be the shortest priced favourite ever for a LOI game?
Fair enough BR, you'd know more than I would. I just saw it online earlier.
Hmmm, don't Ballinasloe have a sprightly young lad by the name of Hope with them?
Don't know how accurate this is. Just seen it on Facebook.
Athlone Town FC Fans Just been informed that O'Connor will take charge of the first team on Friday and it will consist of under 17 and under 19 players.
That came from a current committee member. Might not be true completely. But there will be a good amount of under 19s.
I've been told only Ian fletcher, Danny Molloy and Conor Barry are staying on from the first team. And whatever junior players we manager to scrape together by Friday.
If the latest rumour going around about what hardens plans are, then we may as well just close shop now.
I like a good rumour me, so enlighten me.
Any update Battery Rover? Is it game on?
Update from ATFC: http://athlonetownfc.ie/team-news-update/
Great opportunity for Athlone fans to chant "Who are ya?" at their own team.
I can see Ash dusting off the gloves alright!
Are the new people looking to take over a group of fans or businessmen or what?
Only 3 players have stayed on, the rest will be junior players and u19 tomorow night.
any sign of the confirmed players they have on the books for tomorrow? Are they even allowed to register junior players?
A meeting of members of Athlone Town AFC took place today 23rd June whereby a vote of no confidence in the current committee was unanimously passed.
A further statement by members will issue within 24 hours.
Unfortunately the chairman seems to think that members don't have any right to call a vote of no confidence. This is going to get very interesting very soon
The chairman has now blocked off the area and boarded up the fence where fans have been holding the protests.
Absolutely petty.

Athlone Town Fc –Members Statement
Further to a meeting 23 June where a vote of no confidence in the Committee of Athlone Town FC was unanimously passed, members present agreed to issue a statement and would like to make the following points:-
1. There is significant concern on the delay on the issuing of a statement of affairs despite a commitment from the committee same would issue following a public meeting at the stadium 25 May. This is simply unacceptable. We call upon the committee to confirm the basis on which the information is been withheld given the commitment noted to issue same.
2. Members have learned that Mr. Tony Connaughton made a detailed submission to the club 6 June requesting certain information and put forward proposals. We understand a deadline for reply was given to which no reply was received. Mr. Connaughton issued a final reminder on 7 June setting a deadline for a reply by 4pm 8 June and again no reply was forthcoming to same.
3. We now wish to call a public meeting and ask all who care about Athlone Town FC to attend such a public meeting. Members are calling this meeting due to concerns pertaining to the running of Athlone Town FC. We urge people to come together on this matter, those who have been hurt by the club in the past and those who have the club in their heart. We welcome all who care about football in Athlone and anyone who shares a vision on making the club great again. This is an open invitation issued to save our proud club. Details confirming venue, time and date will be issued under separate cover once agreed.
Come on the Town !
Dated: 24/6/2016
pity Longford Town cant do the same as the fans are not being listened to and the club being run to the ground. One of Athlone Towns signings Darragh Concannon played with us in 2009 and returned back to his home club Ballinasloe Town after a few short months.I believe from reading on facebook that ye were close to getting Ballinasloe Town Liam Lynch who we had in 09 and was excellent for us!
We took the first steps towards being a supporters trust run club yesterday. Very good turnout at the meeting with representatives from Foras, 1895 trust and GUST. 7 interim board members came forward until we have the first official meeting to elect a board.
Positive steps and it can only be good for the future of our club.
Now we just have to get rid of the current crop.
Athlone Town FC -The Peoples Public Meeting – Wednesday 20th July
If you grew up as Town fan or are new to the Town and love Athlone football, please attend a public meeting on Wednesday 20th July at 8.00pm in The Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone.
This meeting is being organised by a large group of concerned members who have supported “The Town” through the good and the bad times. This meeting will include a discussion on the future of the Club and there will also be plenty of opportunities for all those that attend to put their views and ideas forward.
We call on the Athlone football public to come out for a meeting that in our minds will determine the club’s future. Stand up for your beliefs and restore core values to the club we all cherish.
All are welcome.
Was at Drogheda and Althlone game, players gave their best, didn't create much but cant fault their effort under the difficult circumstances.
I don't think Athlone Town FC are happy about the planned meeting. http://www.westmeathindependent.ie/n...football-club/
