Have heard that Harps will be playing Dundalk on Monday 12th September (if Dundalk don't have a Cup replay). so more likely we will play Sligo on Friday night this week than Saturday night. Sligo, though, don't want to play on Friday for some reason.Quote:

Sligo should count themselves lucky that they can rearrange a cancelled home fixture immediately for a Friday night
Apparently both clubs have agreed game for Saturday night according to Donegal Democrat.
That means Harps will have to play Saturday against Sligo and Monday against Dundalk again.
Dundalk v Rovers will take place in Oriel on Tuesday 20th September. 7:05 kick off aswell,which is a pain, as the game will be on RTE 2.

Really struggling with this one. Why could the game not have been played Friday night? Surely Friday suits Sligo better than a Tuesday night?
Harps now will have 6 matches inside 19 days. Stephen Kenny isn't the only one with problems.
Bizarre call by Sligo. Better home gate on a Friday night over a Tuesday night (also a Champions League match night) and they have set themselves up for 3 games in the space of 6 days that week? Don't get itQuote:

I think his point is obvious. We would rather have played both games with our full squad. Unfortunately we couldn't do that so we had no choice but to postpone the games. Hopefully that puts to bed the "theory" that we only did it to mess with Dundalk.Quote:

The league has been well and truly messed with this year.
We have to figure out a way of leaving enough gaps and spaces in the calendar in future seasons. This may mean extending the season by a couple of weeks.

Half the problem is that the league schedules matches in July that they know are definitely going to be moved. The teams in Europe should play each other midweek from March-May, leaving July fairly fixture-free.Quote:
